Digital tuner not supported

There were several announcements by multiple sources that XBox One now supports (as of April 8th) digital tuners for over the air tv tuners. I purchased the recommended tuner... plug it in... and the screen says not supported in your region. After 6 hours
with tech support, restarting, unplugging, rebooting, reconnecting ad nausem I am told that no one can figure it out. The next day I do a little digging and find out that you have to be a member of a special club to get the tuner. Fantastic! How do I get this
super duper user package.... have a friend recommend you. Well, none of my frinds have it so now I have a tv tuner that is a great paper weight. If you need to be a member of a certain group then it isn't released... I feel like microsoft has duped me into
buying a peice of gear that doesn't do anything and wasted 6 hours of my time when their tech support has no clue what they are doing. To say I am *** is an understatement.

Tv postal code incorrect..

The Xbox One Digital TV Tuner is available for users in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

So I can only assume that as Singapore is not a supported region for the tuner that would be the problem.

 

Digital TV Tuner DVB-T not supported?

I live in Germany, i had a reciever for DVB-T SAT. There was no problem with the signal.

I decided to buy the Digital TV Tuner from Microsoft, so i can stream TV while i playing games to my PC (for my Girlfriend).

But the Digital TV Tuner cant find any Signal. Satellite or Cabel, its the same result. No signal or Canal at all.

Can anyone help me please?

 

It would be really nice if some one in the Preview Program could send us an invite ? I too have Xbox One and TV Tuner but no tv for me to watch. I contacted support and they cannot send an invite. It has to be from someone in the Preview Program.

I just downloaded the May update to try my Hauppauge Tuner (the same one indicated in

support.xbox.com/.../over-the-air-tv) and was disappointed that regional support was not included in the update - though my tuner was detected. Does anybody know if regional support is forthcoming? If not, then I too would love to be in the preview program
so I can use the tuner. Thanks!

 

I too was disappointed that my HaupPauge tuner did not work after the update today. I too would be grateful for an invite to the preview program as well!

 

I can't seem to get the May update at all, and my preview invitation is still pending acceptance. Who still needs an invite ?

 

Oh... I see what's happened... the update actually loaded today at 2:30pm. So I went to TV app and sure enough an option was there for USB TV Tuner (I had previously connected it last week). I followed the steps, it did a scan, found 39 stations, now in
trying how to change channels. The guide gives a description of the current show, also displays the next show that is airing and the time. Haven't tried to pause live TV yet. Will see if this is easier to navigate through SmartGlass app on phone or tablet.

 

Yes..its much better to use the SmartGlass app! Also interesting to note the console still reads "Pending" acceptance to the Preview Program?

 

Any chance someone might be kind enough to throw a Preview invite my way please? I was excited to see the May update available and then let down when trying to setup my tuner after installing the update.

 

Why does Microsoft seem to put out great news about add on to Xbox One when at the end you have to go through so many loops in order to buy/pay what you earned for. I wish I read this forum before buy the tuner (May 8)... What is this Preview invite stuff?
Who owns this and how can more people get excepted to this preview? What happened to honesty?

I waited along time for the Xbox One, for Microsoft to sort things out but it looks like in the end, I'm let down again by something that could have been great...

Its working wonderfully...... Sometimes its just the timing. I was lucky in that I read the news about tv tuner just around the same time I wad investing in HDTV (over the air) antenna. I too rushed to buy Xbox One and locate a tuner from a local store.
I didn't realize it was going to work without a special invite. Should haverealised this since I am doing other testing with Skype Translator App and Windows Phone 10 Technical Preview.

I can send you an invite tonight when I get home, but it is going to all be public soon. Its already been launched in other countries.

 

So only for preview members because I have all the equipment ready...can someone send an invite??

 

Please send invite. I purchased TV Tuner day of announcement. Now super disappointed it wasn't included in May Update. Would really like to cancel my cable asap..
