Digital refunds coming

A new feature is coming where you can get a refund on a digital game.

If the purchase is within 14 days & you have played less than 2 hours of the game then you can get a refund on a digital game purchase via your account.

This doesn't apply to dlc,season passes etc.

About time methinks & it should make things clearer about refunds.Bought quite a few stinkers in the past that I would of liked to get a refund on but couldn't due to the no refunds policy.

Also really good for this times when you buy a game and then it goes on sale a week later. If it'll allow you to repurchase it that is.

 

Thereddragon (Youtube) reported on this a few hours ago, at that time I remembered how 1 Xbox gamer got a week or 2 ban for contacting support and obtaining refunds.

That's perfect. There really should be refund option on digital titles, as well as a clear-cut policy.

Some games certainly don't live up to the hype once released, and that'll cause a lot of dissatisfaction when people have to jump hoops to get a refund on a digital purchase. Hopefully that allieviates that problem a bit once the next big disappointment comes
out!

Getting a refund on a digital title right now is basically at the mercy of the customer rep, as far as I know. Even then, like what ElectroFlying mentioned, I've occasionally come across some posts that doing this causes a few people to get banned for "stealing
from the marketplace", but maybe that's for those people with a heavy pattern of committing what is basically "return fraud" (buy it, play it for a while, then schmooze up customer service for a refund).

 

Yeah,in those cases the person has a pattern of getting or trying to get a lot of refunds.

If a game is broken then it isn't a problem.

Then again,support shouldn't be handing out refunds willy nilly anyway.

This will make things a lot easier & clearer.

The whole "no refunds" thing on digital games was outdated.

 

2 refunds a year, ask for a 3rd within a year and.....

"You're a thief!" - Then out comes the BANHAMMER.

Luckely, I only asked for 2 refunds totalling a whopping $5.00 - Just think, if I had asked for another plug nickels worth. I would have been branded a thief.

 

Waiting for the Entitled gamers to start complaining that 14 days and 2 hours isn't enough.

How are they supposed to finish a game in 2 hours?

 

Ha ha,that was one thing that I thought about as well.

 

Microsoft is behind. Steam already does it, and has been doing so for a while. And you're not a thief if you request a refund. You're just standing up to your human and legal rights. And besides, when a refund is approved, your existing license is disabled.

 

And the bizarre thing is that they were behind EA in offering digital refunds.

What an odd world we live in when a company voted the worst were also the first to give basic consumer rights.
