No matter how you slice it, someone gets the game 3 hours ahead of you. If it goes live for you at midnight, then people on the west coast are diving in at prime time, 9 pm, and will still have a jump on you. That's just a reality of the digital world.

Not sure about OP, but this means nothing to me. midnight my time is midnight my time is midnight my time. I couldn't care less when it's midnight elsewhere, or who is playing
before me. Physical releases happen at midnight for each time zone. AFAIC, that's the right way to do it, as it's the 'same time' no matter where you live... if you can't do it right, don't do it...

Nor do I. But some hardcore MP folks seem to obsess on who gets out of the gate first and starts ranking up. I assumed from the tone of the post that the OP was concerned about this. Personally, I just waited until morning.

Fair enough I suppose, but it still doesn't solve anything for some hardcore MP folks. We all have time schedules we have to adhere to. Even hardcore folks (although some may be
more willing to be flexible). If midnight PST is 3am EST, you'll still have hardcore EST folks complaining about the release time, except now it won't be 'they got it before me'... it'll be 'they have longer to play before they have to sleep'. I'll be waiting
until I get home from work this evening myself.

That's pretty much the gist of it. Some people just need to get out and experience fresh air once and a while (I'm not directing that at you, OP...just a general observation about the topic).

Out of curiosity, Blue Illusion...how do you highlight quotes like that? I can't figure out how to quote people at all in these forums.

^^^Exactly... rich formatting gives quite a few options. Just copy/paste what you want quoted and choose what you want to do with it. I have no idea why they made it such a PITA to quote...

You guys have waited months and months for the game... what is 3 more hours?? Don't people sleep at night?

Actually, yes... I do sleep at night. Which is the entire reason I'm not happy about it. People who keep saying 'it's only 3 more hours' are missing the point entirely. 12am is
a feasible (enough) time for me to start playing a game after install and play a little before bedtime. 3am is ridiculously not. Digital is supposed to be the future, it's supposed to be (and is for the most part) more convenient... and yet... one of the biggest
times that this convenience should be screaming 'go digital' at the top of its lungs, it falls miserably short... well, not if you're on the west coast I guess.

So, what is 3 more hours?? The difference between me playing the game as soon as it releases, or waiting until the next day. And no, it isn't that I'm not patient enough to wait,
but the whole idea of pre ordering (for me) is to have it as soon as it's released. Not the next day. Because... you know... most people (myself included) will be sleeping at 3am. Of course, if I were that intent on playing it as soon as it's released, I could
just go wait in line at a midnight release somewhere and get a physical copy. But that wouldn't be very convenient... you know... like digital is supposed to be... would it?

Right there with you Blue. It's after twelve and still nothing. I was going to do some character creation for a bit before I went to bed but I guess not. It's the principal of the thing that no one seems to be grasping here.
