Digital games will not load on external and internal hard drives

yesterday, I was able to play evolve (external hard drive) with ease on my Xbox one. I unplugged my external hard drive before I went to bed as to prevent it from burning out. Today, I plugged the external hard drive back in and turned the Xbox on. I then
proceeded to load up evolve, however, when I loaded it about 10 seconds in, the Xbox froze and made a loud noise (game audio frozen too) and put me back to the home screen for Xbox one. I tried this also with plants vs zombies (internal hard drive) and it
also would not work. I tried this with a disc game but it worked perfectly fine. I have tried turning the Xbox fully off and on but this does not work either so I doubt there is a problem with ram please help!

Did Any one Else have issuse when transferring data from xbox one to xbox one x?

Do you have an external hard drive plugged in to your xbox.

Do the games load ok from your internal drive. might be worth unplugging your external drive to make sure and load a game from internal drive.

 

External USB Drive - Always Is Default Drive For Download Games

I have a Western Digital 4 TB USB 3.0 External drive. I wonder, can I tell the Xbox One when I download a digital game, that I want it to install on the Xbox One's internal 500 GB drive instead of to the External drive.

It appear that I made a purchase of Alien Isolation, digital download game, the game appears available for download from the Internal and External drop down menu. So I selected it from the Internal drop down menu and it appears available to install.

I started the installation, it began to down load, but it appears it's downloading to the External drive, as I can see the drives light blinking at different paces while the down load is taking place.

Is it that once you install the External drive, by default all downloaded games go to that drive and the control of "moving games" is only available when the game is already either on the Internal OR External drive.

Did you power cycle the console by holding the power button on the console or by pressing the Guide button on the controller.

Holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down is the best method. You could also try unplugging all items from the console for 5 minutes to see if that helps.

 

I have tried both methods many times over but the games still will not load

 

I am also getting this, just bought don bradmans cricket, downloaded it fully onto internal hard drive, doesn't load. Moved it to external, didn't load. Turned xbox by holding power button and turning on with controller repeated steps previous doesn't load.
I've uninstalled it 3 times and repeated each step. Doesn't load. Wtf is going on? I've spent 60 quid on a picture of Don Bradman for my xbox? Sort it out xbox.

 

It's happening to Evolve, Ghosts, PVZ,and NFS rivals.

the games are on both external and internal hd so it must be the latest update that has done it.

I have redownloaded Evolve twice and still the same.

Microsoft should have sorted it out before releasing the update or put in an option to un install it
