Digital Games and Gamertags

I'm not sure if it's because it's so late, or I just can't seem to find the information after an hour of looking, but I have a friend that would be willing to sell me his XBone. He has 4 games that are downloaded on there. I've found the DRM stuff for
360, but can't find anything with One. If I were to buy his XBone, would I be able to play those games with my Gamertag? Or would I have to purchase them separately? Thanks for the information

Not exactly, you get 2 licenses for each game. 1 for the console and 1 for the gamertag.
The Home console will have access to the games until the gamertag is setup on another console and that one set as home.

Its how people share digital games and reduce the cost of them.

that is true all digital downloads are linked to sed gamertag if no gamertag is resent then no digital games will be present either

 

As long as it was still set to be his HOME Xbox and he didn't assign another one as home then yes, you should he able to play those games when you sign in. You will just lose the benefits of having a home console. No Automatic download/install from remote
purchases or gold sharing of he lets his gold sub laps.

 

a console can have an unlimited amount of home consoles assigned to it Rippen. I believe he can assign it as his home and still gain access to his friends games.. maybe someone else can chime in...

Now for your purchase... how good do you know this friend? is he buying another an Xbox soon? like Rippen states... once he selects another Xbox one as his home... you will automatically lose those games.

 

^^ Correct. Your ability to play those games on the hard drive is totally dependent on the person selling you the console. If he goes off and buys another console, *poof*, you've lost those games.

P.S. No one over the age of 12 refers to it as the "xbone".

Appreciate the input. I don't think he plans on getting another one. He's not too keen on the system. He prefers his PS4 and PC more. It just happen to come up last night at our D & D session and I had planned on buying one this weekend anyway. It was
just a good deal for all the stuff he has. But, the games are all digital downloads from the Day One Edition. Thanks again.

 

If I were you I wouldn't include his games in the asking price, and accept you may lose them if you want full funtionality.

 

We came to a good agreement for it minus the games.
