I have purchased Fifa 16 digitally back in December, normally once you own a game when you click on it on xbox.com it says already owned, but for some reason when I click on fifa 16 it still gives me the option to purchase it? Anyone know why this game doesn't
shown as owned even though I own it? Thank you!

Thats why i just think of them as rentals. Eventually the 360 live servers will be shut down. When this happens all digital games and DLC purchased will no longer be available.

A good solution would be a system where you could surrender your license to a game in exhange for a good discount on another game which would essentially be a trade-in system

i have this sometimes, it is a tad annoying, it will be listed under your downloads list on xbox.com or console.

It is annoying, it shows up on my downloaded games, on my Microsoft account, but I almost re bought it. Or would it let me re buy it? How do I go about re downloading it if I ever need to? Thanks!

To re-download, in Xbox 360 it is under your account downloads (rightmost tab on the system menu). For Xbox One, from your main screen, use the RT trigger to jump down to the games and apps panel. Games that are not installed are shown where you have your
other games, between the installed games and the store, just press RB and LB shoulder buttons to scroll a page left and right.

Unfortunately no as the game was not purchased digitally, and it's a promotion for a digital purchase of the game.

As mentioned some digital purchases can be refunded as long as they meet the requirements needed.

the digital version will require a digital licence meaning the game will need to be purchased digitally. any dlc content purchased will be saved to your account and will not require further purchase.

So you own the game both on disc and as a separate digital purchase? Can you share a screenshot of the digital purchase history to confirm your game? I am confused as to why there would be a digital purchase since the game needs physical accessories in order to play, which you obviously would not get when making a digital purchase.

For digital games here is the relevant paragraph from microsoft’s terms of sale:

For complete details on refunds for digital game offers, Xbox apps (excluding movies and tv apps), digital gaming bundle offers, and digital durable and consumable gaming offers, such as games season passes, virtual currency, and microtransactions,

I think the only solution is to request a refund again, but Microsoft does say digital purchases are final and are only reviewed under certain circumstances.
