Digital game owned but can’t install

Hello microsoft so ive recently purchased Halo Master chief collection from a card and redeemed it once it redemeed it said i own this game but it didnt install automatically so i searched halo on the store now i didnt own it so i checked my purchase history
on my xbox assist it has the redemeed and paid but never downloaded there wasnt an option to install it it just said manage so i looked up options that could help ive attempted to check for updates on my xbox turned of my wifi and unplugged my xbox and logged
out of my xbox and logged back in ive tried everything i could think of that could be the problem and after finding out it couldnt work i got upset about it that i spent 40$ on a game that wouldnt even let me play what i payed for now im asking a question
if you know how to fix this problem?

To install and play a game you own on Disc (even backwards compatible games on Xbox one) you need to insert the disc, install it and have it in the console the whole time you want to play it.

This is different if you own the game digitally (not on disc).

If you are talking about the game you own on disc but don't have, you will have to get the disc and insert it to play. There's no remote installing if you don't have the disc in and if you don't own the digital copy.

If you own the game digitally and it's backwards compatible (or an Xbox one game) please go to My Games and Apps > Ready to Install and find your game and install it.

If you own the game digitally on Xbox 360 please go to Settings > Account > Download history and download the game again.

To clarify, how do you own the game? Digitally or via a Disc? If you own the game digitally on your account you should be able to redownload the game from the Ready to Install section on the console.

You access it during the installation process. Digital packed in premiums are now tied to the console so they can’t be resold.

No i own these games on disc not digital

I installed them on my hard drive when i try and play it asks if i own the game

If i try to install a backward compatilble game it asks me if i own it
