make games they don't want to trade it in. Nintendo understands and you can tell quite easily by looking at the prices for used Nintendo games. It's because not as many people trade them back and it's why Gamestop will give a pretty penny for them.

"How else are they paying for these games that cost millions?" They should probably not try to make games they can't afford--especially when so many Triple A games are really jsut the same rote we've seen before prettier graphics and false sense of scale.

People complain about Destiny ripping Story elements from main game to sell as DLC. This is what I'm talking about.

No matter how good a game is people try and breeze through them as quick as they can on the easiest settings and trade it in before the price drops. The big games cost money. If you can't afford it stick to Indies.

Trading is still an industry killer. I can't blame them for trying different tactics to stay viable while still pushing innovation of AAA games.

than anything on the market and had a ridiculous cost to it. Freaking Call of Duty probably spends less and makes more.

of games and you can tell which ones people don't want. It sure as *** hasn't hurt many studios other than the loudest ones who can't face their own follies.

We have a slew of successful original and derivative titles big and small on the market place. The only people who I see hurting on the ones who just bad at business.

 

I agree with Pyramid.

I use Gamefly. It's not because I'm cheap or don't want to support developers ( I purchase as many as 6-10 early access/kickstarter games a month that I don't even play to support developers), I do it because the AAA developers are churning out garbage.
It's either broken, short on content or are just mediocre from a gameplay standpoint.

I spent 99 bucks on Destiny and I'm kicking myself for not renting it instead. Watchdogs and Sniper Elite were recently rented and returned after only a couple hours. If developers want me to spend 60 plus dollars for their games it better be for more than
just hype.

 

Both of you can add IMO to both your posts. Destiny Is fantastic game. Im not sure what you were expecting.

I like to play my games on the harder difficulty settings to get a bigger sense of accomplishment out of them, as well as to make the game's longevity last longer, and in some cases, to get additional achievements.

This is going to sound crazy but I agree with Randver. I have been a hobby gamer since I was around the age of 6 so 20 years now and games have never been more dissatisfying. Unless of course you want to just sit around and mindlessly drool on how great
everything looks.

That's just my opinion and I also will say though that I have had some great times on some of the games. But I am just curious too where these endless hours of playability I'm being told I will receive.

And the whole 60$ for reg copy 75$ for collector 99$ for limited now to me that is a serious issue that's happening now and not many care. I do my part and rarely buy DLC. I really have to be able to play the game needingly for ateast 1000 hrs to buy a
DLC for it.

 

As much as I dislike Destiny its no shorter or longer than any other game out there. Saying games aren't lasting long enough anymore is baffling. Games, both SP and MP, last as long as the player wants them too. They do not explode after you finish them,
they do not blink out of existence when the next game comes out, thus they can be replayed infinitely. If someone doesn't want to put 100s of hours into any given game then that's on their own individual tastes.

The complaints are how the developers are getting those hours of gameplay. I'm currently playing Murdered Soul Suspect. I'll finish the story in about 4 hours, if I chose to do the collectibles (of which there are lots) I could stretch it out to probably
8 hrs. Twice the hours to look for sparkling objects, no thanks, I did that for years so give me something new.

Destiny is a grindfest on par with old MMO's. I'll be back playing WoW in less than a month when the new expansion comes out. Blizzard knows they have to make the grind seem new so they get innovative, it's still a grind but it's new.

This is where the console developers are failing. They aren't bringing us anything new but they are charging us more to give us the same old stuff....and less of it unless you buy the "premium" "limited" or "elite" editions.

 

what would they have to gain? um how about the fact that people would be buying new games vs used games from retailers that cut out the developers completely. Also if a game is that good people wouldnt trade it in within the first 3 months...so you're saying
its ok for a company to mislead you, misrepresent their product and then stick it to you forever with no consumer rights. Eh, corporate america needs to fall...this kind of thinking is so anti-humanity/anti-american. These digital rights only benefit the
corporations and the greedy pigs that run them. How can anybody be for that? Only the ignorant and naive...whats in it for the developers? They would actually see my $$ and have the what used to be good feeling of giving the consumers the options they deserve
and have a right to. Again if the games good people dont trade it in...if its generic and only last for a month why should they not have the option to get some of their money back? Its the developers fault if it doesnt last. If consumer rights on digital
doesnt change soon i'm going to stop buying new games and only buy used to where developers dont see the money at all..hope alot of others do aswell so the developers/publishers either switch over and give paying customers what they want or fail miserably
and go bankrupt.
