Digital downloads stopping when in standby mode

With Watch Dogs, every time I tell xbox to turn off, it seems to stop it from downloading. I never had this problem with Titanfall or Dead Rising 3. Not sure if one of the system updates since then has messed things up. Any ideas?

GUNNER 26: Are your games on disc or are they digital downloads?

If your games are on disc the xbox will download the patch in standby mode, but wont install the update untill you put the disc in and load the game. This is normal.

If your games are digital it will (should) download AND install the update whilst in standby.

when in standby mode how often does the xbox check for new updates' when i put my xbox in standby mode and there a new update it wont check for the update but only download the updates the xbox seen when the xbox was on before i put it back in standby mode'

I had the same problem yesterday. Started the download before work and it was stuck at the same spot when I got home. It also stopped when I tried to finish it overnight. This is the first big game I've tried to download since the last update so I don't
know if that did things.

 

That's what I'm suspecting. No idea what would sort it though.

 

Did you ever get this figured out? Happened to me again with the Destiny beta....
