Digital download

So I understand that the game itself is 45 GBs but then there is a 20 GB update to do at launch. Will that 20 GB start at midnight launch, or will it be all ready to play when the clock hits 12:01?

Can't decide if I wanna do physical or digital.

XB1 Full Game Digital Downloads

I agree the digital downloads should be cheaper. It seems as though the opposite is taking place. All of the discounts seem to be on the physical disks. I have wondered if there have been sales problems with physical disks as more of us opt for the convenience of digital downloads. Why not offer discounts on the digital downloads to encourage people to give up on the disks and we can move away from disks completely? If it was $10-$15 cheaper for the downloads no one would care if you could resell the disk or not?

If all you settings on the Xbox is set to auto download then it will do so. My patch is full downloaded so I'm 100% read to go.

 

The update/patch is already out. It's 15 GB's.

 

can I download the patch before midnight? I have a digital preorder but it's only 45GB. Would have loved to have the patch downloaded as well.

 

Yes I have downloaded the game too and right now it only says 45g I have tried everything to get the update to start. How will I know if has download the patch or not? How can I make it start?

 

I found out dude. I didn't have auto download on. I've now turned it on and the download appeared a little while later as queued. It's now updating just in time. Beware that it took about 15-30 minutes to start.

 

if it doesn't say 59+ GB, you don't have the patch

 

hmmmm I trying this now but every time that I turn my xbox back on its updating some other stupid game but not halo. I dont understand this. I have instant on on and auto download too and the box is currently off. I guess I will wait another 30 min and check
it again.

 

It is instaling again, even that i have downloaded it yday. This is anoying. I paid for digital one, so i dont have to wait for patch to download. *** knows what is instaling, i have a slow conection, so it will take a while. Had something like 10 energy
drinks to get ready and all i can do is go and have a ***, cus there will be no halo tonite. Great, thank You ms x

 

Yep, my digital pre-order looks like it is doing a complete install again. I switched on at midnight and tried to launch the game but it only had the option to finish install. Judging by the bandwidth usage and the percentage complete, it is installing the
whole 59GB all over again.

Not happy.

 

Same here Campotech! Same thing happened with my CoD! When the *** are they going to sort out this digital *** service!!!

 

your not the only one simon same for me and i have had the other updates so it was at 58gb since the last update last week now im waiting on a game saying its at 100% updating

im on a fast connection but xbox live network can only sustain 4MB/s which as dropped down to 1.5MB/s as more people try.

brilliant once again i wont be able to play the game till late the next day cause of the network load

really these updates should be done in advance

 

I have a 90 mbps down connection and in 3 hours I have only made it through half of the instal. This is ridiculous. Microsoft can't handle the traffic for one of the biggest games they have been trumpeting all month. Way to win people over to the next generation
of gaming. The install base for this whole counsel isn't even that large. I also probably won't be playing until tomorrow which negates the whole reason to preorder. I should have just picked up a physical copy.
