Digital download question.

So I'm not sure if I'm the only one that's having a horrible time with these digital downloads, I have been downloading Advanced Warfare for over 10 hours and it's only at 20% (I have terrible Internet). My local redbox has Advanced Warfare and I was wondering
if I could just rent the game, install it, and then once I return it I could be able to play? Just wondering if this is possible.

That's an interesting question! I'm curious about this as well. I always have thought there should be a global release time, but I'm sure the waves you get from time zones is a lot easier on the servers.

I also bought the digital version but I received the code for Fallout 3 in a couple of days.

Completely possible. In fact you should probably do that in the future for all your games.

If you have "terrible Internet", then installing from disc will save you a headache, no doubt. You'll still have the usual Day One patches that so many games seem to have, but that's small potatoes relatively.

But if you're going to go that route, why not just buy the game on disc anyway? At least you'll be able to sell the disc later, if you decide the game's no good. Can't do that, with a digital copy.

Yes you can, I had bought COD on disk, Installed it...then gave my copy of disk to friend, then bought the digital copy. But since it was already installed from disk, no download is needed.

I've been using Gamefly for years. Easiest thing I found to do... rent the game, if you decide you like it and want to buy it, buy it digitally. Since you've already installed it (and any patches you had to download) from the disc, you won't need to download
it again. Then just return the disc to the rental place.

@Lei I believe that if you installed the game on the system and tried to access it without the disc, it would ask for a disc or to download the game. If you buy the digital version of the game, it would just allow you the license to play without the disc.

Completely possible. In fact you should probably do that in the future for all your games.

It shouldn't download again unless it sees it as a different game. If it does see it as a different game you can double up on the achievements don't remember exact title but I know a couple friends that played normal version than goty version to get achievements
