Digital Download codes coming soon

According to
Major Nelson's Blog Digital download codes will be available at participating retailers for select Xbox One and Xbox 360 games.

forza 7 Problems

I installed forza 7( digital download) and it says marketplace coming soon is this normal?

gamestop offers in store purchases with digital download..

i am not 100% certin how it works.. if a code is attached to the game as a direct download or if gives you microsoft cash and you than buy the game...

either way as long as its purchased thru gamestop pre order you will get the codes for the exclusive content.. destiny for example i pre ordered it at gamestop and am getting the download version so i wont have to put a disk in but i still get the gear/guns that a pre order gets(comes as a code on receipt like normal)

 

I live in the future but I haven't seen this in Australia yet. I want this but yet again.....

 

If they get this to cover AAA it will be pretty sweet

 

Now it will be up to the retailers to level off the pricing... let's see if they do it

 

Good news is that once these codes start becoming more common even from overseas/amazon I'll be able to purchase them online for cheaper from another supplier, ozgameshop. If retailers stocked these as well and compete with the disc price, I'd still try
to support them and buy it from them. If they don't I'll go off shore.

 

I would wait for someone to try it before assuming the codes themselves aren't region locked.

 

^^Codes shouldnt be region locked. My Fifa 14 code was given to me from an Aussie.

 

My live subscription isn't locked either. I'll buy game codes from the same supplier who will guarantee they work.

 

i don't think we should anticipate digital codes to be cheaper than physical. no way Gamestop does that or any retailer really.

 

Not so much as cheaper as a whole Deacon but the lower prices... I am going digital 100% with no plans on buying a disc.. if I have to buy say Hardline for $59.99 and a month later it is still $60 in the MS store but the disc version is $39 at Gamestop...
lets just hope the digital versions price stays the same as the disc..

 

Good for the digital customer. I know he said "Select". So I am just assuming here that the others will just be currency for the game, and then you put it on your account then download it. Like they have been doing for Season Passes lately

 

digital rights STILL need adjusting...and where is this digital trade in store option MS rumored prior to launch to help sales? I guess talk is cheap..but it still makes no sense to limit consumer rights just because they want a digital copy vs physical...biggest
scam in this country and others right now..no consumer rights with digital.

 

More QR code,please.....I bored and too lazy,to have to write all these numbers and letters....
