  1. Difficulty setting static IP address

I've been using Internet Connection Sharing on my laptop using an Ethernet cable with the Xbox to connect it to Xbox Live but when testing the Xbox Live Connection I got a NAT error so I decided to assign a static IP address to my Xbox. Now I'm not sure
if DHCP reservation settings are there on my router or not but I've tried assigning a couple of values in manual mode to my Xbox but when I try to connect, I get an IP Address Error. When it's in automatic mode, everything works fine though.

I have a D-link DIR600M wireless router and it's very difficult to find support for this router. Note that it is not the same as the DIR600 model. Also, I'm unable to find the portforwarding options for this router. All I can see is port triggering. Please
help me set up a static IP address for my Xbox so that I can resolve the NAT error.

    :)

SOS: can't fix my Xbox One

I'll update you guys again. I've been working on it tonight. I tried the static IP address again. I have Linksys SmartWiFi so i can adjust some settings.

What I did is setup a DHCP reservation for the Xbox One with an IP address within the range setup on my router, which is assigned to the MAC address of the Xbox.
I also setup a static routing setting where I manually entered in an IP address, a subnet mask, and a gateway. I used the same IP address I chose above, for subnet mask I used the same one that shows under my router settings, and I used the gateway that is the "start" IP address in the range of addresses available.

After that I restart the console, enter all the same info into the manual IP address setup on the Xbox, I run the test, It says "Can't connect with a static IP address."

This is all along the lines of the stuff both Microsoft as well as Linksys had me do. Nothing worked.

I'm ready to shoot the thing with my .45.

    Xbox One WiFi problem

I have a router but I have no idea about how to assign a static IP address. Do you do it through the router or through the Xbox One?

    Difficulty setting static IP address

    Hi DejaVu619,

With your Static IP, the first 3 groups of numbers need to be the same as those on your network/router, with a unique number at the end (255 is max number). You can find this by typing 'ipconfig' into Command Prompt on your computer.

Then, your Default gateway needs to be the IP address assigned to the router (You use this IP to access the Router's network settings)

So, if your router's ip is 192.168.0.1 that will be the default gateway,

and for example, your static IP address could be 192.168.1.241

Your Subnet Mask should be set to 255.255.255.0

Then, with your static IP set, follow this guide so you can portforward to your console.

After looking around online, I'm starting to get the idea that the DIR-600M does not support PortForwading.

Instead, do try to use Port Triggering instead, and it is recommended for you to turn DHCP on if possible.
