    Hello,

    I have a brand new PC (two weeks old) and I'm having difficulty maintaining a bluetooth connection with my Xbox wireless controller to my PC.

    Initially, I couldn't even connect the Xbox controller to the PC. It was discoverable by the PC, but every time I would select it in the "add a bluetooth device" menu, it would fail and simply say "try connecting your device again."

    Eventually, I was able to establish a brief bluetooth connection between the controller and the PC. The controller is now listed as a paired device but it doesn't maintain connection. When I turn the controller on, it functions for only a few seconds before it loses connection to the PC.

    I've tried two completely different Xbox wireless controllers and had the same issue with both of them. All of my drivers are up to date, my BIOS is up to date, and the firmware on my Xbox controller was updated using the official Microsoft Xbox accessories app. I have connected other bluetooth devices to my PC without issue but for some reason, I am having significant issues with the Xbox controllers.

    Anyone have any ideas? I'm pretty much at a lost at this point. I don't know what else I can do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Diabelnyy,

    Unfortunately it's not possible to connect your headset via Bluetooth, unless your headset or headphones have built in Bluetooth. If the headset's are Bluetooth capable, then you would need to set them up via your PC's Bluetooth settings, but I'm not sure
    if you can have multiple devices connected via Bluetooth at the same time.

    You would need to directly connect the headset to your PC via the 3.5 mm audio port. Connecting into the controller will not work unless you are playing on an Xbox One console.

    The Xbox wireless controller adapter for PC will not work in trying to connect a headset via Bluetooth.

    Xbox consoles do not use Bluetooth at all. The controllers connect to consoles via RF. The Xbox controllers only use Bluetooth to connect to PCs and phones.

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    Sorry to hear you are having issues connecting your controller to your PC. We understand you have the Xbox accessories app and it's updated.

    Do you have an Xbox console as well? Did you update your controller via the Xbox console? The latest Xbox controller firmware update may affect Bluetooth connectivity and performance with some non-Xbox devices. If your controller is having Bluetooth-related issues after a firmware update, you can choose to revert your controller to an earlier firmware version to correct the problem.
