Difficulties setting up an account for son

I need to set up a second account for my youngest son. Unfortunately we found getting the xbox console set up very confusing and it took a long time. I have read somewhere that an electronic signature is required for me to give consent for a second account.
I absolutely do not ever want to use an electronic signature. Is there some other way that I can get as second account set up? I am totally frustrated at the conflict that this console has caused in our house hold and desperately need to be able to impose
some time limits on our use. A second account is our only way of achieving this.

Failing this how can we set our console back to factory settings to sort out the mess we seem to be in?

You can not change an adult account to a child account. Deleting the accounts will lose all data and purchases. If you have a Microsoft email (@live.com @hotmail.com @outlook.com) you can not change email as this will delete the account completely.

The only other thing I thought I could do was to delete both accounts and set them up again but I would be worried that all his information and games would be lost

You can't change the account from an adult to a child account. You can change the primary email associated with the account though, Which would free up yours
