Different versions of Minecraft applies at different times for different platforms?

When i try to connect to friends server that is playing on Xbox One (I'm playing on PC) i get the message "Cannot connect: Old server!", and when my friend try to connect to my server she gets the message "Cannot connect: Old Client!".

Apparently my version of the game is 1.18.31, and her version is 1.18.12 even though the 1.18.31 version was released to both Xbox One and PC on the same day (27 of april). Additionally there are no avaliable update for her game on the Xbox either.

How long does it take for the downloaded version to be used (it's both 1.18.30 and 1.18.31 that's been skipped).

Hi Schtedt, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Your friend should run the updated version of the game by now. Kindly ask your friend to perform troubleshooting steps such as powercycle before checking if there is an update again but if that didn't work, uninstalling and reinstalling will be the next option.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

I hope you are aware that Minecraft has different versions for different platforms. If you have issues with the game contact Mojang support.

The Minecraft game on Switch is a different version or on a different platform. You will have to purchase the Minecraft game on Windows platform. It includes the Java and Bedrock version. Check the link here https://www.xbox.com/games/store/minecraft-java...

Minecraft for the Xbox is considered a different version than Minecraft for Windows 10. Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title unfortunately, so it would have to be purchased again if you want to play it on a different platform.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with being able to add a friend from a different platform to join sessions in Minecraft.

You must verify that you have the most up-to-date version of the Bedrock version of

Minecraft. If your buddy is playing on a different platform, you must verify that he is also signed into his Microsoft Account in order for you both to connect.

There is
a list of different versions of Minecraft that will provide you with verifying you are on the correct edition that will let you cross-play.
