Different country purchases

I recently bought my friend (He's in the USA, i am in Bulgaria) a code for a game (Enter the Gungeon) on xbox. This code was purchased and gifted directly through the xbox one console store. When he tried to redeem it, it said that the seller should get
a code that would "work in his region". Is there any way to fix that or get a refund?

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you've gifted a prepaid code to a friend in a different region. Correct, when you gift someone a game they should be in the same region as you or it may not function as intended
due to region differences. You can fill out an
Xbox Refund Request Form and they will give you any information or options available to you. Hope this helps.
