I’m confused how will it work for both if one is physical and the other is digital
Both consoles are digital...it's just the Series S is Digital only whereas the Series X is both Digital and Physical.

75th Anniversary Edition Pre-Order can be downloaded to the Series S, the Series X and the Xbox One

    Looking into XBox One X

    1. The Series X comes with 1TB. The Series S comes with 512GB.

    2. That may be the Series S which is smaller than the Series X.

Differences in Xbox Series X – 1TB Digital Edition and Xbox Series X other than the optical drive?

They are identical. Discs are only used in installation and DRM verification

why do I HAVE to play The enhanced version of games instead of the regular ones?

You can depends in which edition you get

Keep in mind the series s one has smart delivery to go based on your unit which would be downscaled

    You won't have 4,k textures

You would.need to buy the Xbox one copy NOT the.series copy
some games have separate editions for Xbox one or Series X/S but most of them like a few older Xbox One titles got automatically upgraded to the Series X versions if they were available, a few games like digital versions of say the Quarry for example have two different versions one digital Xbox One, and physical disc is Xbox one edition that GameStop sold me, which you can't as far as I can tell get the digital upgrade for the physical edition to Series X, if I want the physical disc for the Series X of the Quarry I would have to buy the full price or get a used copy of it, since again the Xbox One edition doesn't allow it to get upgraded to the 9.99 digital upgrade I think, since I haven't tried to unlock the digital upgrade which as it words it that one is only for the digital edition and not the physical edition but that's a whole other problem, than that smart delivery again not sure if it matters but my TV set can't do 4k yet or HDR stuff either, so those features on my current LG tv will not work, even for the Series X console, nor can it turn it on or off like the Xbox One X could, that feature been removed too which is another whole problem now, if I upgrade my tv set at some point, maybe closer to my birthday I be looking for good tv sets or 4k monitors that work for both pc and gaming platforms that support all the features I think, otherwise I can only play those Enhanced Seres X games with no FPS no HDR and no 4k on the internal hard drives and when they fill up the space I have to move them to my external gaming 4TB drive which works just fine for the Xbox One X Enhanced games , just not the Series X titles, otherwise no problem for me, but I can see how it's easy to fill up that 1TB drive with just a few Series X titles, they almost should of made the console with 4 or 8 TB internal drives, which would of been a lot cheaper than the 1 to 2 TB cards that cost as much as the console itself. that 4k textures don't matter much to me because I don't think you can tell them apart of the 1080 textures on a 1080 TV set, they get downscaled anyway. but I can see again how this can be a problem in the Longterm on owning a series X or series S console, at least with the Series X and discs you can save some downloading time, and internet bandwidth. otherwise, I been having fun playing on my new Series X, it makes a lot less noise when running than my Xbox One X did.

I would like to say in the Xbox Store its very un-organized for which editions are automatically upgraded to the Series X , and which ones now of 2022 are only one version or the other, which say you get an Xbox One Edition of the Quarry on the series X console, it will not automatically or even offer you can upgrade for free to the Series X enhanced edition, they want to buy their full priced Series X digital edition, again no physical upgrade for a few games, and some of the older titles like the life is strange 2 and life is strange non remastered games are either Xbox One or Xbox One X enhanced but no Series X upgrades for them, and the Remastered editions are not Series X enhanced at all, I own the life is strange True colors ultimate edition pre order its an Series X game, but the two remastered games that came with it are standard Xbox One editions for the remastered titles are not listed as Series X games at all if anyone if wondering about that, I heard that they were advertised as being Series X based life is strange games, either they never released the Series X ports of them that way? or only added the 60fps features so far in the released patches since they are not under Series X Enhanced titles at all, but that another problem than the topic here.

    Xbox One Series S - I'm confused

You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

The other consoles can play games from disc and from digitally downloaded,

I hope this clears things up for you.
