Difference between Xbox gift card and Microsoft gift card?

I've read through some posts on the forum, but I still don't really understand it fully. I'm intending to buy Minecraft for Windows 10 which is in the Microsoft store.

I found Microsoft store gift cards which are in value of $100, and Xbox gift cards of value of $20. So if I buy 2 Xbox gift cards, I would have $40 which is enough to buy Minecraft, but where does the value go if I redeem it? Would it go to my Microsoft account balance and actually allow me to buy stuff from Microsoft Store, or does it go somewhere else because it isn't a Microsoft gift card?

Then why is the XBOX gift card from the microsoft rewards 23000 points and Microsoft store card is 23900 points? What is the difference between those?

Are basically the same as both will go to your Microsoft account balance, so if you wanna purchase the game you can use either of both in either Xbox or Microsoft store

Should cover you. One thing I'm not certain with is if "gift cards" can be used to pre-order physical goods. Might want to check with Microsoft Store support on that?

There is not a way to split payment between two credit cards. what you can do is purchase a xbox gift card with one of the credit cards put that xbox gift card onto the account then you would be able to split the payment between the gift card balance choose
this first as the first option that you want to use to pay then it will ask you how you want to pay the difference and then you can use the other credit card.
