... why the mute button is so large on the plug for the headset / adapter?

Well it is so you can easily slide your thumb off the left stick... click mute... say Xbox (insert command here) then un-mute and get back into the flow of game/party chat

This has been a I am tired of listening to people give the wrong commands to the Kinect and start screaming into the mics for no reason service announcement...

Did you know?

That with some precision you can get a predator inside the dome? The easy part is getting it through the broken tiles/triangles up top but the tricky part is getting it past the steel beams above the the ground level. But it can be done and is quite rewarding!

Anyway, go ahead and list any interesting tid-bit about the game that you think might have gone overlooked, unnoticed or simply unknown.

Please don't be a, "everybody knows that," jerk. If only a small few didn't know about something it can still be helpful to them.

I want to know which genius designed it so you need to squeeze the mute button in order to get a sufficient grip to pull the plug from your controller. It seems odd.

 

LOL i totally have thought exactly what you both just said.

 

I think the mute button is the way it is for ease of use. The 360 wireless headset was muted with the large power button too, it's just convenient to quickly tap if somebody walks in to talk to you or you need to take a quick phone call etc.

I do have to agree though, the Xbox One headset is a little stiff to unplug, perhaps the future will see some form of grip on the side to make this a little easier or even some little push clips to loosen it like on the older iPod connectors.

 

I like hearing the family drama that goes on with people who don't connect their headset and you get background audio from their Kinect... it's like watching reality TV while racing Forza 5... or whatever your game of choice is.

 

It's very stiff trying to remove it you nearly end up breaking it to be honest. I hope the new adaptor are not like that.

 

Easy to plug in but to unplug that's another story....

But really please to have everything on the controller (mute and volume).....

Now some needs to learn how to mute.

My concerns about the plug are valid. It cannot be good for the thing to be holding down, and activating, the mute button in such a way every single time.

 

try pushing your thumbnail or even the tip of your thumb between the controller and the adaptor. Then you're not pushing the button but should apply a good amount of pressure to separate it.

 

the removal is a pain in the ***.... that is for sure.... they need to add a notch to the bottom, sort of like a battery door cover for a remote..

But anyways.... that is what I do... especially in BF4... slide the thumb on the mute.. say what I have to say and lick again... I have gotten so fast at it... it is like if I was spotting in BF4...
