Did the 360 have issues early on?

I joined Xbox late-ish 2010 got the Xbox 360 slim 250gb console was debating of getting either Xbox or PS3. But Xbox Live has many great features, it looks friendly user, and it's run by a reputable company. I noticed that earlier models suffered from the
red ring of death and I don't blame it. tiny pen sized wholes punched in the back and yes we call that adequate ventilation.

Xbox 1 has a Windows 8 styled UI which I'm not really fond of. At launched it missed so many Xbox Live Features Xbox 360 has like battery indicator, USB file support, recent players list, notification bugs, no external HDD support, Microsoft didn't even
provide software (Dashboard) access to even your console's internal HDD, no Dolby Support just that Stereo Uncompressed which sounded really cheap, couldn't change the dash background, bio and motto didn't appear in your profile on Xbox 1. It is still missing
Xbox Live Feature called Voice Messaging which young peps like to use. So far you can only txt until if and when the release an update. Over 3k peps want this feature on Xbox 1. To put it short, 80% of my friends are still on Xbox 360. But game graphics look
better on Xbox 1. Xbox 1's hardware is capable so see no reason why peps have to regularly do a hard-reset on the console. It's the way they make the OS on Xbox 1. It does have 8GB faster DDR3 RAM compared to Xbox 360's slower GDDR3 512MB of RAM. It also has
an AMD Jaguar 8 core APU since it's a newer processor compared to the PowerPC 3.2Ghz 3-core CPU on Xbox 360, it should mean better processing power and for it to "multitask" like have friends and Skype app and a game running without the need to close any apps
while running a game without having to hard-reset.

My experience with Xbox 360 is awesomeness and fun. There's none of this complicated UI design which Xbox 1 kinda has, and not really any Party issues which some peps on here report Xbox 1 as having. They do make UI changes to the Dashboard, they've done
it to Xbox 360 so there's no ruling out that they won't do it for Xbox 1 too. I give Xbox 360 1,000,000,000/10 and Xbox 1 7.5/10. I would have given Xbox 1 a score of only 5/10 back at launch.

Smiles your rating is unfair.... 360 gpt so so high as you bought into it when it was 98% the way it is now... trust me.. if you had it around 2007-2008.. it will be M U C H lower.. now re rate the X1 in 2018.. level it off

As Bird mentioned, the launch of the Xbox 360 was a absolute catastrophe. A complete and total failure that resulted in Xbox extending their warranties to 3 years. I personally had 4 failures and I take great care of my electronics. But, they beat Sony
to the "next gen" console market by almost a year which resulted in Microsoft taking a huge lead in that generations "war".

Did the 360 have issues early on?

I had a 360 since launch and I never had RRoD, but it definitely had issues.

Neither console is perfect but I haven't had any issues with the one and had it since launch had 3 360s all of which died after about 2 years but worked perfectly during that time

  6. I to was fortunate with my launch 360 which only took a nose dive after my ex decided to test it's durability out on my back after a break up but before all that besides sounding like a turbine spinning my disc i never had any issues besides game freezes
here and there. I remember the 360 being pretty bare bones in it's early life as well.

Having the One since Christmas i haven't experienced any issues what so ever including freezes as they had added a lot before i hooked up but i only use the my games, friends, store and clips features. I really have no need for any other apps on it. I haven't
even tried party chat yet at this time.

360 launch was far worse than the one.

The one has suffered from missing features which people got used to late in the 360 lifespan.

Check the one in a few years and it will be a completely different animal

Xbox live with the 360 also had many hiccups. There were problems with it in the early days. It would go down regularly every Christmas.

My first 360 was dead straight out of the box, second one lasted about three months before hard drive failure. Took it back to Currys (remember them my Brit friends!) got a replacement and every 360 after that in whatever model was perfect. Not had a
single problem with my One or controller since Day 1 and its used daily.

Hello everyone Did the 360 have issues early on? :)

I didn't join until late 2010 and brought the Slim 250gb console. Those who have been here for longer would have experienced RROD if they got the older Xbox 360 console models. Xbox 360 has actually seen several Dashboard UI changes to what the UI now looks
like which I love. I agree with iBakz comment.

Have a nice day or afternoon or evening Did the 360 have issues early on? :)

PS I miss Lei Fang on here. I sometimes like to copy here posting style, it's cute.

  11. Lol, Issues? Massive issues. In all honesty, the 1st 360 I owned that didn't die was the Jasper model. However, it's hard to deny the 360 era was awesome, maybe that era hasn't finished yet.

Did the 360 have issues early on?

I guess I lucked out and missed the first two years of the 360. My white 360 lasted 5 years (over 100 days played online).

I enjoyed the original dashboard and the newer dashboard on the 360. I can navigate the xbox one dashboard but it isn't as simple as the 360. I find myself digging around looking for things...especially in the settings.

My issue isn't really the dashboard though, it's mainly the party system issues. The party system is the most important feature to me for consoles.

The 360 was perfect at the time of it's launch. Way better than the Xbox One. I can't remember experiencing any problems on the 360 when it first came out. the Xbox One is a different story. I think Microsoft rushed it out to the market too fast. Don't get
me wrong. I love the Xbox One but I would have rather had a flawless Xbox One console launch like the 360 had. They are coming along with the updates though but these updates should have been with the console at launch but to me it feels like it was rushed
    just to beat the PS4.
