  1. Did i make the right choice when buying a new console?


    It seems Xbox has issues every day whereas PlayStation runs perfectly fine.

    Issues I'm having with Xbox:

    Can't view friends list.

    Xbox freezes, causing me to restart my console and lose progress.

    Can never join games on 100 MB/s internet.

    Parties can never hear me or have trouble hearing me. (I just bought a brand new $100 mic)

    Xbox lacks customer service. (Always tells me to restart console)

    Issues with PS4:

    Absolutely nothing.

    My conclusion, I have appearently made a poor purchase when it comes to gaming.

    Hard restarting the console is always the first trouble shooting step.

    However, it sounds like your inability to join games, see friends, and parties could be network related. Have you opened all the ports on your router/modem for Xbox Live.

    When you run the Network check on your console, does it inform you that you have Moderate/Strict NAT?

    PlayStation has it's own issues. For example, Xbox Live was down for a day at Christmas, PSN was down for ~1 week.

    Both consoles have pros and cons.

  5. I'm pretty sure my network is not the cause of my issues. When I first started experiencing these issues I sat on the phone with my ISP for over an hour diagnosing the problems. When we were done it looked like the issue was resolved. Then the next day it
    started doing the same exact thing. I switched my service 2 times and still had the issue. This has been going on for about 4 months now.

    I don't use the instant on settings. My console starts fresh every day and I have very few issues. Matchmaking works about 98% of the time, and there has only been an issue with the friends list once. I am on 3mb/s internet speeds.

    Things you can look at:

    How old is your router? I had to change my 5 year old router because it simply wasn't up to the task.

    If you are on wireless, are you using G or N? Is the router too far away?

    Do you have the correct ports open for the IP assigned to the Xbox? Verify these numbers not relying completely on your ISP tech support.

    The reason why tech support starts with power cycling your system is that it clears most problems by clearing memory and restarting apps. Whether you have a console, computer, phone, etc, sleep mode cannot be done all the time. This is true with any computer
    device with an OS or firmware.

    Four months of owning an XBox One and I've had so many issues with it... seriously think I made the wrong choice in consoles, and I have been a die-hard XBox player since the day original XBox was released... I play games to play with friends. So many
    times now I cannot play with them because of the service not be available. And all the games I play I could get on another console! Trade in, here I come.... sad, very very sad.

    I would say yes. the One has been a hot mess from PR to stability. My 360 works fine, my PS3/4 works fine but the One fails to connect party chats and connect even with it's flagship series Halo. It's the biggest 180 in progress.

    to answer the issue with chat and your new and/or old headset.

    1.plug your headset into the controller

    2.go to settings and select your controller

    3.select update, [it may say there are no updates but go ahead click update]

    4.after the update your chat should work with the connected headset
