  1. Did I just receive another faulty power supply?!?!

A couple of weeks ago my Xbox One stopped turning on, I noticed that the light on the power supply was off and called support, they told me that if the light was off on the PSU then it had to be replaced.

Today I got the 'new' power supply, and before even connecting it to the xbox I connected it to the wall first... to my suprise, the LED does not turn on in this unit either. I proceeded to plug it in to the xbone and it obviously didn't work.

Did I receive a shot power supply? Obviously I tried different outlets... Should the LED on the power supply turn on even when the console is not connected?

If this is the case then support is getting a very angry call ... it took almost 2 weeks for the replacement to arrive.

    Thanks

    :)

  2. Xbox One not turning on at all

I bet. Sounds like it is just another faulty unit. I tried a new power brick before sending in the service request and they both did the same thing. Good luck

1:Unplug the power supply cables from the console, from the wall outlet, and from the power supply itself.

2:Wait 10 seconds before you go to step 3.

Important This is the critical step that allows the power supply unit to reset. Make sure you unplug the power supply unit from both the wall and your Xbox One console.

3:Firmly plug the power cable back into the console, and then plug the power cable back into the electrical outlet and the power supply. It is important that you connect the power supply directly into a wall outlet, avoiding any surge protectors or extension
cords, because they can affect the performance of your power supply, which has built-in surge protection.

4:Turn on the console and check the light on the power supply. Since you have already checked other outlets and verified they are working then If this doesnt show any change for you, your PSU needs replacing AGAIN.

  5. Also it is important to note, step 3 is how you should always connect your PSU to your console, into the console first, then the wall outlet.

  6. Thanks for the reply,

Just one question... even if the psu is not plugged to the xbox, should the LED turn on?

I just want to make sure it's the psu and not the xbox.

  7. To be honest I never really paid attention to that bit. What I just did was unplug my PSU from the console and the wall outlet the light went from white to orange ( I have instant on mode enabled) The light actually stayed on while completely disconnected.
Obviously some sort of reserve possibly something to do with the internal surge protector. When I plugged back into the console about 2 minutes later (I tried to see if the light would go off,got impatient lol) the light actually went off until I plugged the
    PSU to the wall outlet.

As I said above though you should never plug into the wall outlet first, doing so can damage your console. It is also possible that you tripped your PSU's internal surge protector if you did meaning it will need to be reset. Which is what the 4 steps above
    are for.
