Did Halo Break My Xbox?

As many of you know the Master Chief Collection currently has a large number of issues and bugs effecting its performance. Earlier this week my copy of MCC quit working altogether. It keeps freezing at the title screen when I hit start. Initially I thought
the disc was faulty but now when I go to load up any other game on the console they also freeze right away. I can load apps and everything else just fine but not a single game will play.

I have done multiple hard resets, power cycles, and have even cleared my local save data after reinstalling the game.
Nothing works. I'm just about ready to start filing complaints to xbox and Microsoft support, as well as return the game to get my money back.

If anyone else has encountered this freezing problem and found a solution could you please share the details.

I dont think MK broke your 360. There may be an error on the disc other than scratche that may cause it not to read properly. You can try taking MK in to get cleaned incase there are small scratches that are causing the error. if that's not the case and
your 360 is having hardware failure again and is still under warranty send it in and get it repaired cause if its starting to have errors on other games then the disc reader may be failing.

You know I have a post on this forum as well about my console acting up, becoming unstable, lots of hard resets, and now that you mention it, coincidentally it started when I got MCC. It doesn't happen all the time as I played it last night without issue,
but since I got the game other games have caused the same issue. Now I noticed that every time this happened I'm pretty sure the MCC disk was left in the tray. I've since taken it out religiously after every play session. Crossing fingers.

 

i'm pretty sure that the halo install wrecked my blu ray playing capability. hasn't been able to play blu ray since I installed it

 

I don't think there's anything wrong with my Blu-Ray drive. I can load other physical games like AC: Black Flag without issue. It's only when I attempt to load MCC or a digital purchase like Spartan Assault or Crimson Dragon that the game won't make it past
the title screen or crashes as soon as it begins to load up.

 

Well no luck with the MCC disk theory. Nothing in tray and the issue seems to be more frequent. 2 nights in a row after playing Minecraft had to hard reset the console. First the bluray thing and now this, WTF MS?!? I don't even want to play anything
knowing that it will only freeze the console.

 

I have a problem similar to you guys not as serious but relating to the same game the mess that is halo mcc. My issue is i have to insert/remove the disc around 3 or 4 times until it decides to cease grinding the disc and actually play it which can't be
doing good things for the integrity of my disc drive. Also microsoft have not put this particular game onto the disc replacement service list despite being the publisher and parent company of 343 industries which is a subsidiary of microsoft studios so they
surely are responsible to some extent
