The backwards compatible program is on hold for now as the team are busy working on next gen/ Series X.

However, would like to say Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate
Evil Edition is available already and is Xbox One X Enhanced.

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forums with this question. As M3tal Daz3 has mentioned, It look slike Diablo III Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition has different versions for the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.

• Xbox One Edition
• Xbox 360 Edition

Also if you take a look at the
Xbox One Backwards Compatible list, Diablo III Does not appear as an available backwards compatible title.

In this case you would need to purchase the Xbox One Version so that you can play it on your Xbox One console.
