Diablo 3 Save File not recognized

That is very odd, and from what you are saying, it seems like your console did a factory reset on its own. Power cycling should not have that effect at all.

Is this the only game where you've lost progress?

If this console didn't find anything on the cloud, it's very unlikely your other console will.

In this particular case, the best thing to do is to turn your other Xbox One on and go to Settings > General > Network Settings > Go offline. Once your console is offline, you can launch D3 and see if this other console has a local saved file you could go back to.

Thanks AJ, appreciate your quick response very much - I tried both and neither worked.

Interesting when I did the full power-down, I restarted it took me through the initial Xbox One Setup screens (I had to connect to network, authorize data-sharing, log in, etc). That was really odd - it was as if it had never been turned on before.

Anyhow after that all didn't work I deleted the saved data from the profile and still no luck as per your 2nd suggestion.

Even worse .. maybe .. I logged into my battle.net account and in the D3 homepage it doesn't show I have any toons either. No idea what could've happened between last night and this morning when i booted up.

Anyhow, as a last ditch, I'm loading D3 onto my other Xbox One and seeing if it finds anything in the cloud.

On the bright side, I only play Seasons anymore so it's not like I lost years of work on a toon.

Would you mind giving this a try?

• Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.

• Unplug your console's power cord for 3 - 5 minutes.

* If you have the original Xbox One model, you'll need to unplug the power supply unit from both your console and the outlet.

• Plug everything back together and turn your console on.

• Try launching Diablo III again.

You could also try to restore your progress by syncing the game's data with your latest cloud save, like this:

• Turn your console on.

• Go to My games & apps > Diablo III > Manage game and add-ons > Saved data > Select your profile > Delete from the console.

• Restart your console.

• Launch Diablo III.

Keep in mind this will only work if your cloud save for Diablo III hasn't been overwritten yet.
