Diablo 3 runs at 900P on Xbox One

You misunderstand.

Just upgrading a game to 1080p will not magically make it look better if the rest of the game does not support it.

If the games textures for example if designed for display at 720p will not look as good at 1080p. They may look shaper but that has the consequence of exposing any flaws with the design, perhaps even becoming more pixilated.

Just upgrading the resolution can have an effect on frame rate, no point in playing at 1080p if the game feels like a slideshow. As Az mentions, higher resolutions do require more processing power.

Take a game we are both familiar with "Mass Effect". Being in 1080p doesn't make the game magically look better than the console counterparts. What does make it look better is the high resolution texture pack.

So that is simply my point. You can't take resolution as a separate part of a game's design. Just moving up to 1080p will not magically make a game look better.

1080p should be standard by now and that's why it keeps getting brought up. Pretty much everyone was expecting it to be too. Some people on here just play stupid for the sake of fanboyism.

Someone said earlier if resolution is important enough to you, the X1 is NOT for you. I'll be buying one for the MCC which is supposed to all be in 1080p and 60 fps. That's all I'll be using it for (aside from playing movies).

 

Even though I wish it was 1080p I just paid for it today for the ONE. I played it in the lounge room at work when it was released, but I didn't like it too much. I also didn't hate it so I think I'll play a few games again at work to see if I can get into
it before the X1 release.

Yes.

What you pre-ordered is the "Reaper Of Souls" expansion and on the front of the box it tells you that it includes the original "Diablo III".

Not sure about further expansions.
