Diablo 3 runs at 900P on Xbox One

^ Reality is that the 360 was easier to programme then the ps3. This time the Ps4 is easier to programme then the xb1.

The difference however is quite minimal in comparison.

The xbox and Ps4 are able to perform at 1080p.

 

As someone who still has to see different resolutions side-by-side to be able to tell those differences (between 720-1080), I couldn't care less about res. Frame rate needs to stay solid, I can see the complaints about FR dropping (again, don't care) but
they're all just flair. Played through the NES generation: "Back in mah day" a drop in frame rate meant the player was doing good. ^_^

 

Im playing on a 768P Max resolution TV on purpose So I don't care yet. Can't play 57inch 1080p, makes me sick. Anyway, 900p D3 is still going to be excellent, should be happy we're even getting it with the rumours that it was PS only.

 

Sony paid money to Activision for exclusive advertising.

They did the same for the 360 release.

This is the sort of exclusive I can definately live with.

 

Could be the developer hasn't been yet been given the new developer kit by Microsoft. - Just a guess.

 

I wonder if any of this is just general laziness on the part of the developer? As others have pointed out, the One can do 1080P. I don't think we'll ever know why the game isn't 1080P. One thing I really hope isn't the case would be devs utilizing this
whole "Xbox One not as powerful" argument into their own benefit to not have to work as hard on a game and make it as polished as possible.

 

1080p isn't a developer target.

It's a fanboy target.

It's not the people making games who insist that games should be 1080p.

It's not the people playing games who insist that games should be at 1080p.

It's the teenagers sitting in internet forums proclaiming that games should be 1080p.

It's already been proven last gent and this gen that games don't need to be 1080p to be amazing.

 

^^ I'm not a teenager but I insist on 1080p for my console that cost 500 euro and it's 2014. Didn't your parents teach you about generalizing? Mine told me when I was like 5 years old. Generalizations especially to try and incite an argument makes people

Games don't need to be 1080p to be amazing....obviously, but they look so much better when they are.....fact. 1080p is almost outdated anyway so why not? I think eggnogga is on to something.

I want 1080p on my xbox one, plain and simple.That is why we upgrade consoles, to game with better tech so they can create better experiences. As iv said numerous times in this thread, 1080p should be a staple today and it shouldn't need a discussion like
this.

 

Just because people want the games on the current generation of consoles to be all 1080p, doesn't automatically make them fanboys. It really isn't an unreal expectation.

As I said before though, resolution is not a separate part from the rest of the game's design. So if a developer thinks they are going to give a better experience on a platform by dropping the resolution, they should do it.

But it's not a fact.

The rest of the game design needs to support the resolution, if it doesn't then forcing it up can actually make the game look worse.

Just having a 1080p resolution does not make things look better.

 

^^ It does to me. Games in true 1080p have always looked better. What games does better resolution make them look worse? I'd like to see for myself.

 

Excellent point even if it is easily answered.

PS 4 users might be seeing it with "Diablo III: Infernal Edition".

It's a busy game with a lot happening on screen and the insistance on keeping up appearances with 1080p resolution could lead to the game chugging at the busiest bits.

 

You just have to accept that the ps4 is a more powerful games console than the xbox one,things will get better but it will never match the ps4,xbox one is still a great console but xbox live on the one has not been a very good service

 

Exactly, it's not a competition, it is what it is.

Live on Xb1 though? I haven't had problems until around now and I think it's just a flaky update.
