Diablo 3 runs at 900P on Xbox One

Digi- I don't own either "next gen" console and I want both of them to succeed. Like you, I'll probably go with the ONE................when Fallout 4 releases. LOL. And I'll probably go with the ONE because of the UI and the online is alot smoother, IMO.
PS4 down the road for the exclusives. It just burns me when people act like resolution doesn't matter, when it does.

battlefield hardline 1080p 60fps

I think the biggest evidence that some developers ate lazy is that Diablo 3 is 900p on the Xbox One, my PC can run it at 1080p and it's a two year old AMD system (one of the second gen apu from amd) and it's not that great a pc.

Like someone said earlier if resolution is what matters go play on PC, you will get the best resolution there. Not on Xbox not on PS but on PC.

And just to let you know how most people cant tell I will just say Killzone.

 

People here should do an experiment. Ask a friend, roommate, family member to change the res randomly when you're not around. I guarantee you, most won't notice. You'll think they've done it when they haven't. Think they haven't when they have.

Maybe it's just me, looking at a 2K next to 1080 is glaringly apparent. 1080 to 720? pfft. I've changed from 1080 to 720 for some older games, and have forgotten to change back. Only noticing the res is lower when I see it in the settings. Think I'd spot
1080 to 900? I game on a 24" 1080P monitor with admirable PPI. Buggered if I'd notice if one of you's changed the setting on me. lol

 

Why are people gaming on a "next gen" console? Maybe Increased ram and better CPUs which allow for more things to be rendered on screen at any given time, maybe the ability to record game clips or stream to Twitch without the need for another piece of hardware,
maybe "next gen" exclusives that aren't on the previous generation of consoles. Who knows why people bought their console of choice but it probably wasn't just because of increased resolution.

 

The thing about next gen resolutions is they are better than last gen resolutions and thats all that should matter. I never once saw an article about resolution last gen so why is it so important now? Besides if these next gen consoles are 4K capable, we
should start crying about games not being 4K.

 

Let's take PC out of the equation. It's obvious the PC wins on many levels. Resolution, graphics, menu options, mods, and Steam. Where it loses for most people is initial price entry and upgrading drivers and graphic cards. When talking consoles, some people
make choices between the 3. Nintendo, Xbox, or Sony. I choose all 3, but that's just me. I like games, not consoles. People have different reasons why they chose one over the other. People act like graphics and resolution don't matter, yet those same people
scoffed at the Nintendo Wii because the games "looked" terrible. Meanwhile you missed out. That console had a ton great games that you never got to play because graphics don't matter, right? I know, you don't buy Nintendo's console because they make "kids"
games. Uh Huh, right. Now these same people are saying 1080p and 60 FPS don't matter.

It's hypocrisy at it's finest. All you're doing is giving PS fanboys ammunition to fire at you. They're looking at you the same way I am. "Suuuuure......... graphics, resolution, and faster frame rates don't matter. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight." It sounds like
sour grapes. I have a question for you. If Microsoft offered an OPTIONAL patch, tomorrow, that upgraded every game thus far and every future game to 1080p with 60 FPS.......would you download it? Of course you would. The end.

 

I boycotted Nintendo when they were fined by the EU for price-fixing across Europe. My dear old ma paid £65 for Street Fighter II on the SNES. lol Besides, the latest in innovative character design to come out of Nintendo was the Wii Fit Trainer. lol The
sooner that company goes the way of Sega and hops on the 3rd party train... the better. IMO

^^^ I will agree that Nintendo makes better games than consoles. Not saying I don't like their consoles but the games are better. As long as they maintain full creative licence with their exclusives then I'd be fine with that.

 

I play so many 720p games on the Ps3 without caring too much. My only problem with the current gen are the fans either getting angry or just making stuff up. I like the xb1 and the Ps4 and the wii u, if its a graphics contest it's impossible to deny the
facts though people will and it just makes it difficult to move on with gaming.

If I had D3 on the 360 I'd buy the Xb1 version, I have the Ps3 version and therefore will buy the PS4 version. The resolution hasn't come into my consideration.

 

I'm not saying resolution and faster frame rates are the be all/end all because they aren't. It's just when I see people completely disregarding those 2 things entirely, it comes off as disingenuous.

I'm annoyed because I believe the X ONE can run this at 1080p like it does with Wolfenstein and Forza. Those 2 games look so much more clear than any other game on the system imo. I'm playing Titanfall and you can easily tell it's not 1080p. That game is
really fun, but it would be just that much better if it looked nicer.

Casual people might notice or they might not, but I do and that's what matters to me.

 

Forza 5 and Wolfenstein are perfect examples of games at high res that are crisp and sharp.

Play those two games, and then load up Thief. lol. If you cant tell me res and frame rate make a huge difference to the experience you are kidding yourself

 

I suppose the funniest thing is that if the internet hadn't told them they would have never been able to spot the difference.

Also the 360 was able to run games better than the PS 3 (Oblivion, Skyrim, Bayonetta, DMC 4 just to pluck some random examples out of the air) despite being technically less powerfull than the PS 3.

Sony haven't really shown that things are going to be any different so far this generation and let's face it... 1080p is a Last Gen resolution.

But for those who like to argue for the sake of it, a resolution thread is Forum Gold.
