Diablo 3 - Good Job Microsoft

"Diablo III: ROS" was never a Sony exclusive.

Like "Diablo III" before it what we have is the supposition that Sony paid money for exclusive advertising rights but nobody here works for Sony or Blizzard so that's only ever going to be an educated guess.

Not sure what's wrong with your brother's XBox ONE though because this game does not chug unless something happens with the servers to sign you out of them. When that happens you'll get a split second pause and it all carries on as before.

Fantastic game.

 

If I recall correctly the PS4 version has some exclusive content (exclusive monsters etc). That's about all the exclusivity deals it has got though.

 

@ azrael there's one area in the first level of pandemonium fortress and a few on the second that lag even when your not fighting anything, the people I played through with also got it, lots of smoke etc so guess the particle effects are pushing it.

That is the only place I got any at all though and was a bit of a let down considering how polished the rest of the game is.

 

the game looks great on both consoles and both have their problems. I am telling you once you put the difficulty up and there's a few hundred enemies the player and creature animations/effects start to chug - it's even noticeable on my ps4 version albeit
not as bad as the x1. Another thing that brings on massive frame lag in this game is accessing the turn dial menu just after killing a boss for some reason, but I have yet to confirm that on the x1.

I am going to keep investigating.

 

And to those jacking the jaw about the exclusive comment I made.. Blizard withheld information and up til about four months ago. Previously they had said no information about an x1 version of diablo 3 and couldn't confirm if there would be one. They would
continue pushing Sony advertisement making one assume it was an exclusive.

Common sense should have told me this bc in all honesty I prolly would have never purchased a ps4 otherwise but I'm glad I did.

 

I feel like no one knows the kind of lag I speak of. it's weird- the map and environment is animating fine while frames for the character and monsters drop. IE the character and monsters are moving at 15mph when the rest of the world is moving at 30mph.
Now I hope that makes sense and I'm not bashing the x1 because I have started noticing this on my ps4 more and more like right now doing torment lvl70 barb paragon 20 on act1 the areas leading up to the butcher.

 

I've had no issues of that type yet personally. Been a very smooth experience overall.

It's never been a secret that Blizzard were making "Diablo III" for the ONE as well as the PS 4.

They just didn't advertise for the XBox ONE leading people to speculate that Sony paid for advertising privileges.

Brilliant game that still has yet to chug for me but don't worry, I'm reliably informed by many people who take the time out of their busy Sony Exclusives and Next Gen games schedules to create Microsoft forum accounts to insist that 'everything is better
on the PS 4'.

I had some FPS problem but It was cause of lag. Then I was kick out a the lobby. But No FPS problems beside lag FPS.

 

I've been able to confirm lag to the extreme on the ps4 version in terms of character animations. I'm now doing torment 3 and of course the dang psn network gets hacked sigh. But anyhow the lag that occurs on the x1 with lots of mobs also occurs just as
much on the ps4 in certain acts. I now have two characters 70 one on each console both paragon levels in the 60s. the point is the fps drops are actually getting me killed at times.

At first glance I thought it mostly the x1 having this issue but after more hours of play and different encounters it's just as frequent across both platforms. This tells me the raw gpu performance of the ps4 is bottle necked in this game by the CPU and
he x1 lacking in gpu simply ties.

This is actually pretty neat bc I think we have a valid reason for us that want to lock in a 900p 60fps should be given the option to do so.

but also easily one of the best looking games his generation I actually think it looks better on consoles for some reason and tons of fun.

 

Completed the game.

No lag for me.
