    DHCP issues with Powerline Adapter

Hi All I'm not going to claim to know this inside and out so I hope you can help me out with what I do know. I very successfully had my Xbox One connected via a powerline adapter to my BT home hub 5 for a number of months but I've recently been getting
error messages on my Xbox saying it can't connect to my DHCP server. My powerline adapter has 3 devices attached, my AV receiver, Xbox 360, as well as my Xbox one. They have all been suffering issues recently too. To my mind the common issue is the powerline
adapter so I wanted to know if there was something I could take a closer look at. My powerline adapter is a TP-Link TL-PA2030. Any help would be greatly received, and please excuse my ignorance.

    :)

Help -- Upstream Bandwidth - Wireless Repeater

Powerline Ethernet Adapters basically make it so you don't have to stretch a long Ethernet cord from your Xbox 360 console to your router 3 floors up. It makes use of the copper wiring in your household.

You plug in one end of the powerline adapter right by your Xbox 360 and take a short Ethernet cable from the wall outlet where the powerline adapter is to the Xbox 360. The other powerline adapter would go right by the router, you press sync and that's it.
About 30 seconds to a minute later you have internet on your console and you should have a full connection with no issues what so ever.

Though, with an almost 5 mbps upload, I don't see why you'd be getting any sort sort error on Halo Reach in regards to the upstream test.

Yeah it doesn't sound like a software issue, but in fact an issue with your powerline adapter.

Xbox Live not connecting trough Powerline

Also, I would like to appoint that the Powerline adapter's MAC and IP address is visible on ARP table under Wired tab. But on DHCP table it is not visible.

How to force connection via ethernet

You want force Ethernet connection for xbox or pc? If you connect Ethernet cable to Xbox, and evertyhing work normally (dhcp server give ip address, etc) xbox one ALWAYS use Ethernet cable connection. I think, your powerline adapters NOT configured right,
do you remember pairing powerlineadapters? Can you test Ethernet connection? Maybe you can use laptop or something another pc to test Ethernet connection connectivity... Mayby your pc is configured static ip? And pc working well when you use same Ethernet
cable, but when you connect Cable to xbox you cannot connect to Internet, because your Xbox want use dhcp.... Can you move xbox temporarily to same room where you router or modem is it? And test connection straight, modem/router to xbox, ? Problem is powerline
adapter and/or network configuration via dhcp... I think powerline adapter doesn't paired...

    xbox won't recognize wireless connection

    Hi,

If distance is an issue I would look into homeplug/powerline adapters instead

    Stopped connecting to network?

@taidara - the powerline adapters are not the issue as i have previously mentioned they just extend my connection and work fine when connected to my laptop.

One thing to note is the ip / subnet the xbox is 'automatically' giving me is an APIPA ip address so it's definitely a communication issue between the router and xbox, it's giving me a default APIPA because it cant contact the DHCP server. I've disabled
the DHCP server and still having the same issue :(

I give up tonight, will have a crack tomorrow, thanks guys will let you know how it goes tomorrow.
