Device service & repair fees

I am about to send in my xbox one s to be repaired. It is out of warranty so I will be paying $179 but then it says "I may be charged for replacement parts, including the solid-state drive (SSD),
if any parts necessary to complete the repair or replacement are missing". What would warrant an extra charge. And how much extra would I expect to be charged.

There isnt an extra charge

What that is telling you is they maybe replacing parts or the console completely

If you send in accessories not needing nto be replaced you may not get them back but they do send it seperately

Its always a flat fee

If you've registered your device, sign in at Device services to
see the device’s warranty status. If it’s within warranty, repairs are free. If your device is out of warranty, you’ll be charged a repair fee.

To get your console serviced sign in at Device Support and then select
Register new device. After you've registered, you’ll see the warranty status for your device. If it’s within warranty, repairs are free. If your device is out of warranty, you’ll be charged a repair fee.

Regarding fire hazards call the emergency services in your area.
