Device control option removed for cable box?

There was an update last week and I noticed that all my device control settings seemed to be reset. I had my TV, sound bar and cable box all powering up when the Xbox One was turned on. I was able to correct the setting for the sound bar and TV but the option to power on a cable box when the Xbox was turned on seems to have been removed. Was this functionality removed on purpose?

Got it. As OneGuide was discontinued and the new generation of consoles does not support this type of devices as the console does not have HDMI-IN this function has been removed from the system.

Thanks for the reply but no, I’m looking for the function that when my Xbox is powered on it sends a signal to also turn on my cable box. There’s used to be an option for “cable box/satellite” on the device controls screen but now it only shows TV and audio receiver since the update last week. Wondering if this was removed permanently?

I understand. As both consoles use the same system any added or removed functions are reflected in both consoles.

I get that the new consoles don’t have this function but removing it from the old consoles that could still use this makes no sense. Just punishing people for not upgrading, that sucks.
