Yeh I see what they did there.

I still think its shoddy tho, they should be unlockables.

make a game, sell the game to make money. Why is there suddenly the need for devs/pubs to try and constantly make money out gamers?

 

The worth of the content is arbitrarily decided anyway. If I was going to sell my car and I removed the wing mirrors and asked you what you think they're worth individually...

"£30 each? Maybe."

"Cool. Car for sale. Order now and I'll throw in two wing mirrrors with a combined value of £60! How about that for a deal?"

One thing that has struck me about all this is... Evolve looks like a F2P model that they want money for first. If anyone has bought it for full retail, I'd be praying for some good free content later when the game goes free to play and, like TF2... its
revenue stream increases for 2K by a factor of twelve with all that cosmetic content being sold to more players. Heh ha.

 

Great game. Really enjoying it.

While the DLC is practically all cosmetic it still makes the Publisher look like greedy jerks and it's a shame if it wards people away from a fun new game.

 

well im not getting the game till it hits the bargain bin, that will then justify the cost of the unlockable content that has taken the form of paid day one DLC. Or I may just buy it pre owned

 

Like someone else said in a different thread this game was DOA, out of the 5 friends I have on XB1 and the 20 on ps4, not a single person owns this game, now I know this is just my friends list, but if you extrapolate amongst the 30 some million console
owners, it seems like the game will sell poorly, if you where to just look at your own friends list and see how many people are playing it.

 

Silvertash, when did I ever support GoW Judgment? I think you have your history wrong. GoW 3 was the game of all games. Judgment was a cash cow like Evolve. We all saw how fast that game died and how small the sales were.

 

I'm just not that enamored with multiplayer-focused games enough to get this. Nothing I've seen, or experienced in the beta, hooks me. I don't mind a bit of extra co-op tacked on, like Bioware does with ME and DA, as long as there is a big, meaty story
campaign. I'm not saying that this isn't a fun game, and I believe you fans are enjoying it. But I need more than this from a full priced game. And even then, I don't really want something that requires me to have 4 other friends online in order to enjoy
it. Destiny made me realize that is not a good formula for my tastes.

 

When you look at the DLC it's a rip off. They're dazzling you with DLC that's nothing but a bunch of skins.

When you look at the game play there's a lot more depth than you think on the surface. You have to strategise, experiment, discover and explore.

It's a bit old school but these characteristics are what made old school games fun to play.

Very simple straightforward approach that ends up being quite protean in the execution because of the many variables that affect play.

 

TheSilverTash, you missed the point. I never Posted anything in regards to price of CoD Maps or for that fact any other DLC price when it is actual DLC created after Retail and to further extend Content of a Game. I am not Pro
DLC price or even Con DLC price. Maybe stop Posting about what I believe or do not believe.

So to make this perfectly clear, I currently and always have believed Day One Locked On Disc Content (or Locked Day One Digital Content) be it Pre-order, "Special Edtition" or whatever is and always was a scum-bag maneuver by
Developers/ Publishers. When they take away any Content from Intial Developement and lock it behind an additional purchase, that is scum-bag.

 

^^ I do remember you saying how much you hate Disc Locked Content before. I forget which game it was though. SF X Tekken or something.

 

Unlocking disc content with $ encourages piracy which is less sick then the cause, doesn't need to be this game.

 

Given that games are finished weeks before they are actually released, I think it makes sense that some day one DLC is going to be there. After all what is the team meant to do in that gap at work? They may as well be doing something that makes them money
and cosmetic stuff is incredibly easy to do.

The day one DLC stuff I dislike is that which is announced while the game is still in development.

 

@Vaynel - What the employees of the company can be doing is rechecking the game actually works and bug free instead of making a quick buck by hashing together day one dlc, nearly every game on release is broken in someway.

And I'm sure they do recheck, after all otherwise we would not have day one patches.

Just what is the art department meant to be doing during the time from gold to release? If they can make up skins then why shouldn't they do that with their time. This is purely cosmetic content made by people who otherwise would have very little to do.

Content I am against is the stuff like From Ashes for Mass Effect 3. Javik we know was in the game's script from the start, he was cut to make a DLC character.
