Developer Mode - Game vs App

What's the difference between setting an application as a Game vs an App in Developer Mode on an Xbox One?

When I run my game as an App, everything boots normally, but then a cursor appears in my main menu. Inputs are also added when I'm actually in game. It's an FPS-style game. Using a controller on PC, everything works fine. When I run it on Xbox, when I try
to run forward, it shoots the camera up. When I move left, it shoots the camera left. It does move me, it just also does that stuff too. The sensitivity on the right stick is also WAY lower than it should, but no added inputs there.

When I run my game as a game, it doesn't load at all. It shows me a splash screen for about ten seconds, then goes back to the developer mode home.

Would running it as a game correct these added inputs and control discrepancies? And if so, how should I go about getting it running as a Game?

Hi,

When your console is in developer mode, you can only use apps and games designed for developer mode. To play your Xbox games and apps you need to exit dev mode. This is how it is meant to work.

Once you've purchased developer mode it's yours to enter and exit whenever you wish, you won't have to pay again.

I am pretty sure the Series X runs natively at 4K 120 FPS as long as the game supports it. You getting a 1920x1080 FHD monitor is 100% fine. Some developers have opted for a “Performance” mode and a “Quality” mode. So you might get a 1440p game at 120FPS
on the performance mode vs the same game at 4K with 60FPS on the quality mode.

We would not recommend enabling developer mode on the console, unless you are a developer who is in the process of creating a new application.

Additionally, the developer mode for the Xbox One console would not allow others to install a virus on accounts. We'd recommend reading over the

Developer Mode Activation App FAQ for further clarification in regards to this.

As long as they kept the succesful 4 player co-op mode I wouldnt care if they added a VS multiplayer mode. I just think a vs multiplayer mode in Mass Effect would be short lived like some of the other games that tack on a vs multiplayer mode just to say
they have a vs multiplayer.
