Detailed Xbox Party Chat Issue REPORT

This issue occurred on both Xbox App, and Xbox App (Beta) while using my desktop

Issue:

App works well for everything except party app. I can join, create, leave, parties just fine. But I can
not hear or speak to anyone. I have checked my Network and hardware settings. Everything should be good.

It has never worked for either Xbox App since launch on my Desktop, but always has worked on my Laptop.

All my hardware works with other software just fine. Only issues are with the Xbox Apps. I have done the proper troubleshooting steps, and now I am letting you guys know that it still isn't working.

I can provide more information if needed, I was thinking it might be something with my base hardware though. Since it has not worked in any Windows 10 build for me. I even tried rolling back and fresh install.

A new update of the Xbox One is in preview; improves the party chat

While the November Xbox One system update has been released, we are still continuing to work on issues reported by the community, and we’d love your feedback! This evening, we’ll have an update for all Preview members at 6PM, and includes a fix for a Party Chat issue.

FIXES

• Fix for Parties that were unjoinable: Some of you reported that you found the “Join Party” button greyed out when trying to join a friend’s Party. Tonight’s release contains a fix for this issue.

i kno this might be stupid but when u stream to ur pc is the MIC icon at the top muted.. by default it is.. when that is muted you can hear people but they cannot hear you

 

I have the same problem on a Logitech C615 Webcam. Mic no longer works, worked on previous builds of thexbox app.

 

@jeffazz That is not relevant. I am not streaming my Xbox to PC, I am using the Xbox Party App, within the Xbox App for windows 10

 

Lord VandeKieft, thank you for giving us so much information. I would like to suggest submitting feedback through the beta app, that way we can more easily track this situation, it will get reviewed and moved to the developers in charge of these features,
and we can work to resolve any problems we find.

I'm having the exact same issue. I have the logitech G930s too. While using the xbox app for just party use you won't be able to hear others and they can't hear you. The headset works correctly with game sounds while streaming to xbox one back to PC but
still won't work in the parties. The issue is that the headset will just not work at all with any type of xbox party function... While streaming xbox one to PC or while just using the party system in the xbox application for windows 10. (Microphone and earphones
will not work in party chat as said... while the ability to create, leave, and join the party actually work.)

 

I think I figured out the fix. Go into settings>privacy>Microphone and make sure you let the apps use your mic. uncheck the programs that you don't want to use the microphone and try to join a party using the xbox app.
