    Detailed Network speed test seems random


    When I test my network speed though Network Settings>Detalied Network Settings I get what seems like random, low speeds. My internet through Time Warner(now Spectrum) is 300mbps down and 20 mbps up. On my xbox through the above mentioned steps, I am getting
    anywhere from 3-80mbps down and 0-20mbps up.

    When I go to the microsoft Edge app on the xbox and go to fast.com it is showing speeds of 240-280mbps down. This test does not show upload speeds.

    Can you tell me why I can run a test and get 12mbps down, then run it immediately after completion and get a completely different speed?

    Can you please tell me why I'm getting different results with the different methods?

    I am wired directly to my router. I have tried many routers and modem combos and they all produce the same results.

    Ever since ipv6 has become available on my Xbox I noticed that the download speeds on my Xbox have been significant lower on the detailed network test. However, if I use Microsoft Edge on the Xbox and run a speed test I get my regular speeds. Is something
    wrong with the Xbox detailed speed test. Also, i noticed low speeds when I was downloading games from Xbox live.

    Hi Moira,

    So it seems that downloading games on your new console is taking longer than expected. Would you mind letting us know what the download speeds show in the download queue?

    Also go ahead and go to your Network Settings and run the network troubleshooting tests listed on the right and also select the detailed network statistics test to see if the speeds are matching up to the correct amount.

    Let us know the results of the tests.

    Xbox series s Download slows after downloading 10GB+.

    No i dont have another network. It seems to be cbox issue as the speed test shows 300mbps+ speed.

    Have you tried contacting your Internet Provider?

    Run the Xbox speed test utility

    Verify the speed of your console’s Internet connection. To verify the speed of your Internet connection, run the Xbox One console speed test:

    1. Press the Menu button on the Xbox One controller.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Network.
    4. Select Detailed Network Statistics.
    5. The results should appear in a few moments.
    Write down the following information from your speed test results:

    • Download speed
    • Upload speed
    • Ping
      Note Having this information handy will make the discussion easier if you have to contact your ISP later.
