Destiny's one glitch.

Played the Destiny Beta last evening and as I was finally getting the hang of it. "Lost Connection." - Not from my ISP but from Destiny itself, and XBL Gold was still up and running.

Herein lay's the problem with "online only" games.

If the servers goes down... You're not gaming

If Xbox Live goes down... You're not gaming.

If your net goes down... You're not gaming.

Destiny is a good game, with what I expect to be a very good storyline, but way too many variables comes into to play for me to justify purchasing any online only games.

What about you? Does it get you PO'd when you play an "Online Only" game and "services" goes haywire?

Having troubles choosing a game to get. Also, should I trade in Destiny?

^^Its not fair to judge Destiny's full game content to one mode in Halo 4.

 

Nope. The servers are not down for days or weeks at a time so I can deal with an hour or two of issues.

 

I have No problems with online only games. Like 24 said its never for very long.

 

Being on line is how we game now, yes it may go down now and then, and as 24 mentioned, it's usually minutes up to an hour or so, in which case, I have many other games to play, or DvDs to watch.

 

So you take your time and search everywhere for whatever those little things are called in order to revive them, and after finding a few and killing who knows how many fallen.... The servers, xblg, or isp goes down... Start over.

Yet you guys "say" that you are fine with that!?!?

I bet if I were at your house and something like that happened, you would be throwing your controllers through the wall.

 

It saves as it goes, there is always a risk of losing things, but it's not usually very much.

 

Could also be a beta issue, that's why they release it to try to figure out weak spots. Also, what's with your sig Electro?

One way to fix it would be for the game to instantly save, and give you the option to continue that level locally. In that way YOU can keep gaming on that level, and when you want to continue onto another.. You do so when the servers, isp, or xblg is back
up.

I would love to see Bungie do extremely well with it's ventures. So if that little glitch could be taken care of.. I'm in!

 

After playing a lot of MMO's...it's something you get used to. Things happen.

Nothing worse then getting through an instance, grabbing some nice gear, and they decide to do a rollback on the server.

It's the nature of the beast with online only games.

 

If I had the issues I was having during the beta I would be a little frustrated....but that's why we had the beta. To figure all this junk out pre-release. No one wants another battlefield 4.

 

It is a real possibility, but I'm sure we can assume that Bungie will do everything they can to prevent server downtime, which I'm certain any developer worth their salt would do anyways.

 

I had a couple of game drop outs and when I first loaded the beta it wouldn't load due our connections strict Nat. No biggie it was easy fixing.
