Destiny won't play

Brand new xbox setup today. Updated to latest, first thing this morning. The xbox one, indicates that I am logged into 'live'. Game installed.

Once I place the destiny game into the xbox, and select it to play, it just sits at a 'load' type screen, with an icon that cycles through, on the bottom right hand of screen. There is nothing to interact with, like press A to continue, or anything.

Destiny 2 not working on one xbox

so I've got Destiny 2 and I was able to play it for a while but one day I went to put the disk in and my console won't register it. It will spin and register fine in other consoles. Where as it won't in mine. Now the problem console
will play other games totally fine but it won't register any Destiny 2 disc?!

 

For how long is the headset issue going to go on?

No one wants to play destiny with me, cause my xbox won't let me record sound. [Mod Removed]!

 

It could be because of today's Xbox Live outage, as Destiny is an online-only game.

Once the issue clears up completely, try Destiny again and hopefully it will work.

Same thing here. I was able to play yesterday Christmas day, after some struggle, but today, Destiny shows no signs of life. I'm more than a little annoyed. I've paid a fortune for the Xbox and the game and it does not work. I'm about ready to return everything
and get my money back. They can make games that will function without continuous internet connection. I live in Florida, where storms often cause outages. During such times, playing games might be a whole lot of fun.

 

I am also having this issue. I had limited ability to play it yesterday, but no ability to play it today.

 

Yep same here set up and installed. Have not been able to touch it for two days does the exact same thing. This is getting ridiculous. I hope there is a fix for this that can be forwarded out soon.

i had destiny on disc not on internet retail still xbox live cant let me play..a froud nothing else from microsft and his partners

 

I had no luck playing yesterday .. got online this morning for a couple hours but had to run an errand. Now it sits at the main load screen and says must connect to xbox live. BUT I am connected to xbox live .. I can browse friends, message, etc. But cannot
play destiny, AC Unity, Titan fall or anything.

also to add, all of my games are downloads, no physical discs.

I am having the same issue today Derrtygotgame. Was fine yesterday after Xbox Live came back up. Was playing The Master Chief Collection fine today and then it just booted me out and keeps saying I need to connect to Xbox Live even though I am.

 

I just want to know when Destiny is going to be up and running. Every time I try to play Destiny a message pops up saying; ATTENTION: You must be connected to Xbox Live in order to play Destiny. I am, so what's the deal?

 

@Dunk80 If Xbox Live is having issues, then you won't be able to play Destiny. It is an online only game. You will have to wait until Xbox Live services are restored. I cannot play any of the digital titles I have on my system because there is an issue with
Xbox Live.

Xbox finally update it's Support page with a Service Alert for Social and Gaming. It acknowledges joining other Xbox Live members and launching games:
