Destiny without Xbox Live Gold?

This is not the place to try and barter for free gold. However, Xbox Ambassadors as well as a lot of Microsoft people are on Mixer and conduct giveaways.

Gold is needed to play Destiny.

Hi I had Xbox live gold and lost it a little while ago. First I will answer your question. Yes you can go to all the planets and the tower, even see other players on all planets and the tower, but you cannot join their fireteam. They will be able to see
your character, but you wont be able to do missions with them. You can get to around level 25 (or 28 with the expansion dark below) and you can get exotics and legendaries. These will be harder to get but you will still be able to get them. However, you cannot
do stirkes or raids, or play crucible (PVP). Also you will not be able to play coop with other players on missions. I suggest you get all three character slots to level 23 and then buy gold. You can get past that, but it takes a lot of farming and public events,
and also a LOT of time. I have a 27 warlock without gold, but I do not think it is possible to get past 28 with any character unless you buy gold. Hope this helps, please like if it does

I got a used xb1 and did not buy a gold membership, also got a used copy of destiny. i have been able to play everything, strikes, raids, crucible and can join and build fireteams. I dont have either expansion but i was able to get the vanguard armory using
the code that came with the game. I'v been playing for about three weeks now and signed up for the free one month gold trial yesterday, have not seen any changes. I don't believe it is possible that i am using the previous owners account as i wiped it's memory,
set back to default and registered it in my name. So this is pretty confusing, will i need gold for the expansions. Also got a hunter to level 32 fairly easy, full legendary and even exotics. Of course it does say gold reqiured on the mission select screens
but like said i never had gold until yesterday.
