Destiny: Will it survive long enough until Destiny 2?

Firstly, it is no secret that I love Destiny

But, just because of this, it doesn't mean that I'm not going to be completely honest about what I think about it.

Bungie / Activision shot themselves in the foot with the " bare bones " content of Destiny's base game at the full retail price of $66.00

Then, add to the fact that the " bare bones " content season pass (which included The Dark Below and House Of Wolves dlc) came with the steep price of $44.00

Then, add the " bare bones " content of The Taken King with the steep price of $44.00 and it didn't add much in terms of actual game content.

Don't get me wrong, I love all of the updates that have been made to game in The Taken King

There is a surge of games coming out now that is going to blow away Destiny in terms of actual game content.

Even before this new surge of games, titles like " The Witcher 3 " outright puts Destiny to shame with the amount of content that is available on the base $66.00 game.

Look at the games that are coming out soon...

(1) Rise Of The Tomb Raider

(2) Halo 5: Guardians

(3) Fallout 4

..........

With that being said, do you guys think that Bungie / Activision is going to be releasing new content for " free " to keep the Destiny Community alive?

Or will they (Bungie / Activision) still insist on putting up a " pay wall " despite the fact that they (Bungie / Activision) is going to be absolutely trampled by the competition when it comes to getting properly priced game content?

Xbox one game data to 360?

A friend of mine has destiny on xbox one, I have it on 360. We both have a xbox 360. Can my friend get destiny on 360 and transfer his lvl 20 warlock over to 360 so we can play together? until I get enough money for a xbox one. or is it only 1 way? from
360 to the one?

 

Destiny = Borderlands?

It's funny, because I thought that almost the same thing!
Borderlands was not the level of Destiny on all points.

We could say that Borderlands is half of Destiny!

Destiny can play with multiple players. Borderlands offered only a coop mode.
Borderlands has a particular graphic style and Destiny impressed us!
Destiny is just beautiful!

I think we will not until next year this game! But I like it for the moment!

 

I am getting bored of Destiny to be honest.

The taken king raids take too long and you cant do them until your at level 40 and light level 290.

If I would buy the game new now with all new content then its maybe fun.

You're not alone on the sentiment regarding the new players who've never played Destiny before as they (the new Destiny players) are getting a much better experience by being able to access all of this content immediately

Don't worry Activision & Bungie got enough resources to release. Destiny.2 (holiday 2016)

For. me,Destiny was born dead. and i was. stupid enough to. lose. 6. hours. on. the. beta.....(Arf,what a nightmare,it was)

 

Will it survive until Destiny 2?

I guess it's different for everyone. If there's enough new content, people still enjoy what's on offer than I'm sure they will be playing right up until the next game.

Me, I played for a few weeks, thought it was fun but soon got tired of the grind and Destiny 2 will have to offer so much more than the first game for me to even consider buying it.

 

technically they don't have to release destiny 2, as it will all be based in the same area but new creatures and battles and stories, they can just add the rest of the solar system into the mix and expand from there.

 

I'm pretty sure it will last until Destiny 2 , how it fares after that remains to be seen . Having ploughed time and money into Destiny , I'm curious to see how it all plays out for this iteration, but beyond that , I'm out .

 

My copy didn't survive much past PoE... The announcement of pricing for The Taken Currency was the final nail in its coffin.

Honestly, as much as I love Destiny, I do wish that the content in the game matched the price that Bungie / Activision charged us for them.

Based on the " actual content " that was paid for, here is what I feel the value each content is...

Destiny (base game) = $33.00

The Dark Below dlc = $11.00

House Of Wolves dlc = $11.00

The Taken King dlc = $16.50
