Destiny server issues, game unplayable with friends

Last night 5 of us tried to join up. ( yes I know a lot of the game isn't 5 player) we kept getting all kinds of server erros. centipede, flatworm and other various creatures of earth seem be the randomly generated error names they came up with.

I asked xbox live support for help, they linked me to a bungie site. That site links me back to xbox live support. So I continued asking support for help. They told me to do some port forwarding. I do not understand port forwarding and I don't trust myself
with any task that requires fiddling with my router. They are trying to claim that it is MY "server" they said. While I don't own a server I am sure the un-informed support member (nice way to put it) meant NETWORK. I know my NETWORK is fine for gaming, I
play around 50 different games between xbox, PS and PC. Not a single one has ever given me an issue. THEN support tries to get me to call comcast and make an appointment to have them open my ports ( I am sure this would cost me money and we don't even know
if my end is the issue as there have been numerous complaints about this)

The point is, if they want to sell a game that requires several steps outside of the usual OR reasonable level, they should be required to say so upon the purchase of the game. I don't know how it is even legal for them to sell me one product then require
me to purchase another product in order to play. (calling comcast for an appointment)

Very unreasonable if you ask me. So do not purchase destiny if you are not able to do port forwarding yourself(which also creates a larger security risk for your home network) or if you can not afford to pay for your ISP to make a home visit.

You will be unable to connect with friends and be booted out of every crucible or dungeon. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I am sure they will remove this post and suspend me as usual. Even tho I have followed every guideline for the forums.

How Will "The Elder Scrolls Online" Make You Pay?

Hello everyone

This game is really interesting, but Destiny has taught me that server reliant games are bad.

Not because of the games production quality, but the server issues which render the game unplayable.

Should I Buy It?

I'd say right now this game is not worth paying for something you are wanting to have an instant experience with. It is so broken that it is virtually unplayable , especially with a friend or friends via coop. I would suggest something like Broderlands
2 or maybe even Destiny for a decent summer gaming experience with some friends.

 

not played many online games have we? or know much about how the game industry works? its many parts that have to work together to get things to function. Bungie spent over $300,000,000.00 to make the game. hundreds of peopel worked on itot get it to just
work, players like myself beta tested it to make sure you got a product worth buying. its on 2 platforms and as many systems. its a console MMO. your internet at home can be causing the issue. or one of the people in your parties problem. or it could be LAUNCH
DAY FOR THE GAME and the servers are stressed. it could be your IPS has junk lines. or like many your router is not set up to game. hell the weather in a different state can effect your internet and lol comcast. its not Xbox fault your not able to play the
way you want.

 

I would wait. Like MEGAFREAKINTRON said, with a game with heavy multiplayer components, exp like Destiny, there are bound to be some server issues at the very beginning. If you're pretty sure all of your network and internet connections are ok, it wouldn't
surprise me if one of your friends you were trying to game with had a bad connection. Give it a few more tries... good luck!

 

Have to say its not going well for me either, I get 1 minute into a mission and it kicks me off the server, xbox live is still fine and internet is fine, I tried the port forwarding bungie recommends and still the same.

Played in the beta without problems, we have two people in the house with xbox ones trying to play destiny and not going anywhere fast.

It does work for a few hours then it goes *** up.

Party chat also messes up so can't even talk to people.

 

Does party chat seem to cut off, then speed up (hear the person speaking extremely fast like they are a robot) then they get booted from the destiny game?

 

I was in a group last night for a couple of hours (3 of us) two of us got disconnected, I once and another twice the third did not disconnect, we were all party leader at some point no common ground there. Overall the disconnects felt like server stress,
not crashing but maybe balancing or something along those lines. Anyway other than taking a minute to re-connect and re-group nothing lost and not overly frustrating. There were no voice hiccups on party chat as you describe though and that was live the entire
time so it was nothing with any of our local internet or connection to xbox live.

 

@cammers not for me, it just stops me hearing ppl talking and they can't hear me, Iset to party chat and change it back to party chat and alls well, but it happens a lot.

 

they have a reported sound glitch they are trying to fix. exiting the game and "quiting" then relaunching quick fixes it until they can patch it.

 

My Destiny 2 servers r garbage too what is ur xbox gtag we can talk
