Destiny Rise of Iron issues

I pre-ordered Destiny Rise of Iron and entered the code but was only given a $30 credit to purchase the standalone DLC. As I went into the store it says it's only available for purchase through buying the The Collection which I do not need. I went in game
and tried to purchase it through the Iron Lords icon, but was met with a a message that said 'Query failed Could not establish connection to Xbox Games Store. New Silver purchases will be made available when you next sign in.' I've signed in and out, uninstalled
and re-installed all DLC including the Taken King, and I am still getting the same thing. Can someone help me please? This is getting frustrating I feel like I've had $30 stolen from me.

• Destiny - The Collection: If you're new to the series, or have yet to purchase the original Destiny Expansions & Destiny: The Taken King,

do you have the game, Destiny, as a disk? If you have the $30 credit, try going on Destiny and buying the Rise of Iron DLC through the game. Maybe that will take you to the page you need.

 

If that doesn't work, try hard resetting your xbox and try after.

 

I do have the disc, and I've also tried resetting as well. I'm not sure what else to do.

 

have you tried to re-enter the code through the store?

 

Yes I have, just gives the 'code already redeemed' message

The code you purchased includes currency to use for purchasing Rise of Iron—it does not contain the game. If you have not purchased the previous expansions, you would not be able to purchase Rise of Iron without owning all content prior.

are you game sharing? all the DLC needs to be purchased and INSTALLED by the owner, not the game share account.

I'm not game sharing as far as I know. I bought the Taken King legendary edition used from Gamestop so I have all previous DLC. It still won't allow me to purchase Rise of Iron

 

All the same problem here!! No resolve!!

 

I figured out my problem, since I bought the game used I assume, I do not technically own TTK. So I have to buy that, which is honestly stupid why even sell me a used game if I still have to buy the DLC that comes with it, and I guess once I do that I'll
be able to buy Rise of Iron.

 

many games come with the DLC as redeem codes. not sure about the xbox one version, but i know for a fact that the 360 disc that comes in the Legendary Edition (or whatever they called the one that bundles the Taken King and past DLC) is 100% exactly the
same as the original standard release of the game. they probably just had many copies unsold or didn't want to spend extra money to create a new disc, so they repress or relabel (however they do it) the same old disc and add in redeemable codes. this is
a very common thing when buying "game of the year editions" used that include DLC. you have to check and make sure that the game actually includes the DLC on disc.

 

If you have all other dlc, launch the game and you will be able to purchase rise of iron through the game. I'm not sure why the dlc itself was taken off marketplace, but you can get it when you are playing the game
