Destiny review

I'm having a ball, and as always in campaign mode I give Bungie extra credit for enemy AI. They always make smarter enemies than any of their competitors.

 

Interesting opinion randver. I've played wow from launch. Swtor and swg mmo's. I find this game extremely enjoyable.

 

Looking at some comments here and I think I expected Destiny was going to be something different to what it is, I should have followed it more closely before launch lol, anyhow ...

I finished the main story yesterday and here was the biggest let down for me. I guess it's my own fault but I was expecting with it being Bungie some EPIC story and when I got to the end it would leave me on a cliff hanger and I would be chomping at the
bit for Destiny 2/or more content, no spoilers but I felt very under whelmed when I got to the end.

Another slight let down for me is the treasure/loot. You have HUGE BEAUTIFUL areas but nothing overly interesting to find, well I find it that way.

But get a few friends together and go off and do a few Strike missions, once levelled up replay some story missions on harder difficulty and it's a very fun co-op game.

I know there's a few reviews out and a few here have given it marks, I wouldn't do that yet, I want to see how Bungie support this game over time and what they add to it but for now it's,

A bit of a let down campaign/story wise but ALOT of fun when teaming up with friends.

 

To be fair i think some of the complaints about this game are a bit harsh but with all the hype surrounding this game we were maybe expecting a whole lot more but if Destiny had arrived 2 years ago maybe!!! For me it feels like a grown up Borderlands 2 minus
the fun and humour with a lot of Halo thrown in but I am enjoying more the deeper I get in so it is worth sticking with.

It's an okay game but not the best game Bungie have ever made.

 

Patrol missions equal running back and forth between two enemy spawn points and grinding out kills for upgrades and whatever useless *** that they drop.

Or:

Running to some out of the way area to scan it.

Multiplayer does not do it for me.

 

So far I like it, but wish you could talk to everyone rather than having to invite people to private chat. And I wish they would have a world or two with free roam like in the gta and red dead series where people could fight each other or team up. Kind
of like a no mans lands if you will. And whats the point of having a space ship if you can't fly it around? I would enjoy the game much more if you could do space battles also. And as far as an mmo, I don't think so! Yeah you see a few people running around
here and their, but no where near the scale of WoW or EsO! It even says on the box 1-12 players

 

This game is slightly better than ODST.

 

It's frustrating to see someone in your area, doing your mission, but you have no way to talk with them... the game should have some form of proximity chat... what's the point of being able to see other players around you if you can't interact with them?

 

Well, I for one love it! Just downloaded it last night, I have yet to link up with anyone online but going Han Solo is cool as well

 

I am not sure why "OP" calls this a review post when it should have stated "In my opinion". A review looks at all aspects of the game and then weighs it.

For me I have really enjoyed it. Very typical Bungie Story Line. It can be a bit repetitive as most games do. I heard each expansion will include another story line also which is awesome. Personally the Deathmatch option is not a huge thing for me. I have
COD for that. Tried it once in Beta and was matched up with people 3-4 levels higher than I so died over and over. Not sure if it is the same with release? I found a pattern forgot what they call them) and it turned into a very awesome gun. So that was exciting.
Still trying to finish the Venus Story lines and accomplish the bounty quests when I can.

I give it a 7-10

 

I've been playing this game non-stop since I picked it up and just reached level 21 and I can honestly say this game is amazing. It's not for everyone obviously but for me it's almost perfect. With new content and tweaks incoming I'm sure Destiny and I are
in for a long fun gaming experience.

 

It's one of those games u either like or hate it. I like it.
