Destiny... Not in Japan

So I see that Xbox One in Japan might not be getting a release of Destiny. The X1 launches in Japan on September 4 but on September 11 when Destiny launches in Japan no love for Xbox.. No 360 or X1 version. Seems it could have been a good title to have right
around launch to sell consoles.

Is the game still releasing on the 6th?

It's way past midnight in Japan; it's currently 7:15 am. D2 has not released yet. My Xbox region is set to Japan; I'm in Japan. This "minor glitch" is still a problem.

 

Could Microsoft buy capcom

It also would not spark console sales in Japan for Microsoft considering Japan is now a handheld hotspot. Console gaming is dying there.

 

I don't think the Xbox brand has ever done that well in Japan, I guess it would make little difference in all honesty.

 

And on topic what happened to Bungie and Microsoft they where partners but it seems now since the split they are cozy with Sony.

No release in Japan, Console bundles and "timed exclusive content with Sony. I am very sad by all this news.

They made Halo the Xbox crown jewel and now this.

 

It's a shame they're taking a multiplatform game that shouldn't be region locked, and making it exclusive.

Maybe Bungie feels they are making more off of an exclusive deal from Sony, than actual sales on the X1. But I also wonder how popular Destiny will be in Japan.

 

It is a fps so probably not a big game for the Japanese market but so close to launch of the console it would still be a good idea just to have more titles available.

I wouldn't doubt a release later on though it could be a timed exclusive like the bonus content.

 

bstn it is called money sony offered them money for it to all be a timed exclusive i dont know what happened with bungie and ms but i thought bungie wanted to be there own devs i dont know though

 

If I've got this right. Bungie tried for a long time to become independent and everything became a bit sour, I think ms eventually let them go but kept the right's to halo.....which was obviously bungies baby lol.

 

Bungie is making out well in this. No one there would buy it for the ONE anyway so they got extra money or whatever to sell it on the only system it was going to sell on.

Seems like Sony did something they didn't need to do.

 

Japan probably doesn't give a fudge about this either. Not enough angsty teens with spiky green hair who reluctantly have to save the world with the help of their childhood friend.

 

This is a non-issue. PS4/XB1 are region free. You really want to play that game that wasn't released in your country? Just import it. Problem solved.

 

x24hrs That's a option but for your average gamer they are not going to bother with the extra effort and cost involved in that considering it's releasing on a Japanese console also.

This link shows what they are going to do for a launch bundle. Kinect sports Rivals and Titanfall with the Kinect sensor. They could use a AAA game like Destiny cause this bundle does not look good imo.

I couldn't care less if no game on XB1 gets released in Japan let alone destiny. Just solely on the way I really don't want to be matched up with or against those gamers. I don't care how well the servers hold up.

Anyway, hopefully Destiny keeps me occupied until the real fun launches with Sunset overdrive & Halo.

 

@bstn I guess you dont see things for what they are. Last gen(and some this gen) MS was accussed of buying exclusives and relying on 3rd party games to get over. So far this gen it seems like the roles are reversed. Sony is banking on indies, inFamous, and
a bunch of misc tech. While MS is showing indies, (HD)remakes(better value remakes too), reboots, new IPs,

Sony is relying on stuff that may or may not catch on. PS Now? Look at the prices and tell me where is the value?

PS Vita tv? Ill wait and see, but making a DS3 bundle? Thats stupid. MS made its new, better(opinion) controller and kinect(soon) to a rival platform(pc) why can't Sony?

To me Sony is in a worst position than MS right now and they might be stagnant for a few years like Xbox was when Don was boss.
