Destiny MP

I find the multiplayer is not necessarily bad because of any imbalance, but rather because of the players themselves - a lot of them are dirt cheap. Naturally, this is par for the course for any shooter. Play it more often so you can learn the ins and outs
of each level (as well as how your abilities can be used to great affect in those levels) and with friends to have a better chance at success and fun.

I have ZERO interest in the MP for Destiny. I just want to go on awesome missions with people and explore the universe. Ain't nobody got time for multiplayer.

Knowing Bungie though, half of the damn achievements will be for MP crap.

 

if the Destiny MP is anything like Halo MP, i won't be playing much, Halo was the first, and last, game that made me rage quit a game.

 

^^ I'm dead at that video lol. I thought about jumping into the MP mode just for laughs but probably won't, never been interested in it. I did watch a few videos where people would spawn and die immediately after, no thanks! Lol

Thought id try crucible again for the event. MP marches are completely Awful in this game. I like the rest of the game.

 

The Crucible was dull and severely unbalanced (I'm primarily a balanced game player like Halo-Titanfall is my only stray away from equality). The 30fps really hurt the gameplay for a next gen shooter, really wish they could have toned down something to get
60fps for the multiplayer. Also, the vehicles without boarding or heavy-weapon pickups were super boring to fight.

The exploration was a little fun at first, but everything in Old Russia looks and plays the same. You can't pick up new or exotic weapons off enemies, there is no real loot a la Fallout/Elder Scrolls, so exploration is pointless except to gather mission
progress.

The Tower was a nice idea for a hub world but was ruined by the fact that the vendors really had very little function. The third person in The Tower was a bit of a jolt from the FPS view of the game itself, and indeed the only redeeming feature (thankfully
available while in a combat area as well) is the ability to sit down and simply enjoy the view. Destiny is visually very appealing (despite running at 900p--->1080p in beta), and the skyboxes are worth just sitting and enjoying sometimes. The City is not explorable
which really is a bummer, and Old Russia is much smaller than the map gives it credit for. Indeed, this game would have failed three years earlier launching on the 360/PS3, as then shiny graphics were no longer a selling point (except for things like Halo
4 or The Last of Us). The lack of innovation in gameplay is much more evident on the 360 and PS3 versions as their graphics are stunningly rubbish.

Fireteams are a cool idea, but playing alone is impossible in some of the harder Darkness areas which makes it even less rewarding when you need to back out of a mission and can't save your progress. Not to mention, a 3 person fireteam really isn't very
social.

All in all, Destiny falls flat on its promise to provide something for everyone, and instead provides nothing for anyone. Indeed, only sitting on The Tower, out past the railings, overlooking The City, can I even consider for one moment buying this at full
price. If I do, you will always find me at The Tower, contemplating life.

 

Only agree with the crucible part. Couldn't disagree more on everything else you said.

 

Erm... You do understand that pvp is capped and your gear and levels hardly make a difference right? There's a reason the iron banner exists which allows you to gain full stats from your gear in pvp. You're not getting killed because you're being "massively
outgeared".

 

I had a few adult beverages in me when I tried the MP in this game. It seemed very unbalanced. It seemed like some players had armor while others didn't. Some had very powerful weapons and others didn't. It seems a players level gives them a HUGE advantage
in this game. In Call of Duty there is little to no disadvantage being a level 3 vs a max level. I will wait for the full release before I pass judgement........

And was never planning on buying this game for the MP versus mode. This is a fun coop game to me.

 

After player the MP (only a little), I have major concern that the missions will simply become a necessary evil to be able to compete in the MP, eg certain guns are substantially better in MP than others and farming those weapons is going to make difference,
also the special abilities in MP are so annoying, I mean your capturing a point and someone uses a special ability and your all dead, nothing you can do.

the missions all start off good because there hard, however when your level 8, they are no longer hard and start to wear a little thin.

Still looking forward to it, but I hope bungie get it right for all, not just MP.

 

It motivates you to get out there and get some better gear. I find it refreshing to be honest.

 

I don't have a problem with that, I just don't want the missions to suffer as a consequence.

Missions are relatively simple at the moment, IMO they have to get more complicated and more difficult and be longer.

 

Old Russia kind of small!? It took me 2 entire days to explore the whole thing and there are STILL areas of it I haven't been able to access yet!
