Destiny: Microsoft vs. Sony

Super disappointed after playing the beta. I wanted a really cool mp sci fi experience and instead it just feels way to similar to Halo and the scale of the game is hilariously small for the style of game it's supposed to be.

 

@shuzken the beta was small beause it was just aportion of the game. i dont know if you noticed but alot of the game had mobs with ?? by their names, that were immune to your attacks. they did that so that you didnt get to see every inch of the game before
it was released. the game is much bigger that just the area they aloud us to explore. the area they aloud us to explore is bigger, plus there are three other areas in the game to explore such as mars, moon, and mercury. dont be fooled by how small the beta
is, because its actually alot bigger than that. the final product will be way bigger and tons of fun.

 

i am more upset that the makers of the darksouls games are making a game that is only going to be on the ps4!

 

Timed exclusive iwould imagine. For a developer to cut out half of its consumer based, they would have to be a first party develope, i.e. a sony or microsoft in house developer. Third party devs just cant afford to make a game and not put on both major consoles
unless the console manufacturer pays the difference outta their own pocket, and niether sony or ms can afford to pump that kind of money into a game without knowing the returns on that deal will be more than the investment. So basically the days of third party
dev making an ip, that they themselves own, exslusive, are over''.''

 

You will never again see a situation like mass effect 1, where a third party dev produces their very own ip for a single consle. Now that being said, you will still see smaller 3rd party devs produces exclusives, but those exclusive ip's will not be owned
by the 3rd party developer, they will however be owned by the console manufacturer. you will see this because smaller 3rd party developers cannot afford to make a AAA multiplatfor title without backing by either a major publisher or a console manufacturer.
Most of the descent smaller 3rd party developers are quickly picked up my the Major Publishers, like EA, Activision, Sony, Microsoft, and the many other publishers out there. I think the only place that you will see 3rd party exclusives will be in the arcade
sector of consoles.

 

Bioware was an indie dev when they made Mass Effect.They were bought by EA few days after it was released.

No situation.

They are called 2nd party,like Crytek with Ryse,Epic with Gears of war,Insomniac with Sunset Overdrive.

And "the situation" excists,Dead Rising 3 developped and published by a 3rd party (Capcom).
