Destiny: Microsoft vs. Sony

I have been a dedicated xbox gamer since the original console. I own hundreds of xbox, 360, and one games, all of which I purchased new. I also buy every dlc for every game I own. I'm not claiming to be the only one, I'm simply stating a fact. I was extremely
satisfied with what Microsoft announced at E3. On that note I was even more dissatisfied with what they did not. I can't remember ever hearing about having console exclusive content in the past, and I am not talking about sony gets this gun Microsoft gets
this one, I'm talking about people who buy Destiny on Sony systems get tons of exclusive content, and people who buy it for a Microsoft systems get nothing.

Bungie has said Destiny I s going to be updated and expanded, through dlc, expansions, and updates, for the next ten years. So I am led to believe that in the long run if I purchase the game for the Xbox One I might only have 90% of the maps, missions,
and other content if I had bought it for the PS4. This generation I have already concluded I will be spending almost entirely on Destiny once it has released. How is it justified to spend the same amount of money for a game that is not complete on one console?
I could care less about playing the beta or alpha first. Don't get me wrong that would have been nice, but the real concern is the exclusive content. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt Microsoft, but please don't let me down. I personally don't care
how much the game costs, I would pay any price to play this game on the Xbox One with a special edition console, and copy of the game, maybe a statue, and all the content. This game really is a determining factor whether or not I get a PS4. I don't really
care about the conflict between Microsoft and Bungie, keep your problems to yourselves, because you are allowing this squabble to interfere with what matters most, your fans.

I really hope someone from admin. sees this and replies. Everyone else please reply and let me know your thoughts. I want to see this change anything added might help.

What gets your goat about gaming?

I would say fanboys but there are fanboys for near enough everything. AMD vs Intel / AMD ss Nvidia / Sony vs Microsoft vs Nintendo vs Valve / Apple vs Google / Tesco vs Asda vs Morrisons vs Sainsburys / FIFA vs PES ect

My biggest grip are greedy lazy developers like Activision.

 

Where is HBO Go?

And all us early adopter suckers are still waiting for HBO Go, meanwhile PS4 is likely getting it before XBOX one. What a failure.

My thoughts is it has little to do with Microsoft and Sony or Bungie and Microsoft and everything to do with Activision. They are the publisher for the biggest shooter on Xbox. Now they want to be top dog on PS4. I'll just be playing what ever game gets
good reviews on my Xbox like I always have regardless.

 

Activision is also to blame I completely agree. Don't you also agree that it's very strange that activision and bungie are the only game affiliated companies I have ever tried to call, but offer no customer support only technical support. and bungie's phone
number while a little difficult to find isalso a bogus number that just gives you the run around.

Destiny Alpha on PS4 today!

 

No one else will speak about it man. Too many fan boys.

 

I cannot wait for Destiny. I have a PS4 and One. Have this ordered on PS4. That said, I am considering changing. The fact is they will have to deliver the major core experience with all the main and side quests. Sure, they may add some more on the PS4
but if they want this to succeed they will need to keep it minor in terms of what it means. Now, if the content turns out major then that would be an issue but I would not be supporting that either way by not purchasing at all.

Really the reason I am considering changing is e3. I looked carefully at the PS4-One titles, when they would come, and what I would play. Then I talked with my wife about it. We decided we would have more fun together and with our sons on Xbox. So, since
Gamestop was offering that deal I traded in a PS4 with a single game and got an Xbox One, Titanfall, and a 360 game my oldest on wanted. I say this because the factor leading to this was the family-friends connection. And with Destiny that will be a major
factor. So, if I think (and I am pretty sure it is) Destiny is a game that we would play together then extra content or not I would have a better value on the One.

The short version is to not worry about it to much. Buy the game for the console you want to play it on.

 

Guerrero Ultimo's statement is right on. You GET to make the choice, honestly whatever additional content is released early for PS4 exclusive will be irrelevant in a few months after release with higher levels and additional content which will be available
for both machines. For most of the multi-platform titles decisions should be made based on playability, if it is a solo type game maybe ps4 makes more sense but mutiplayer xbox seems to have the advantage. If that isn't clear look at the games sony themselves
are releasing most are single player with if any substandard mutiplayer options.

Well the destiny dlc is Limited Exclusivity. Its only temporarily available for the Ps over Microsoft. Xbox will get everything Playstation will for this game.

 

Stanley3pkiss is right. The exclusivity of the PS4 DLC is only for a limited time, so I've heard. Personally, I'm just glad to be getting the game on a next gen console.

 

So everything the PlayStation guys get at launch in the link I provided will eventually come to Xbox? Is that what you are saying?

 

Never mind so far it looks like it is all timed but not 100% confirmed yet.
