Destiny - House of Wolves expansion

The trouble with Queen's Gear is that it was easy to get (just complete a Queen's Mission) and then could be broken down for Ascendent Shards.

So they nuked the Queen's gear to stop people levellling up illegitimately.

"Destiny" takes me back to when the original "Gears Of Wars" was released and you just made so many great friends through playing a game that you all loved.

Brilliant game that hearkens back to old school titles where part of the fun was the excitement in exploration and discovering something new.

 

@Zero - Thanks mate, I've actually destroyed all of my old legendary stuff because I like what I have now better. I would be keen for a different upgrade path for the current gear though and relieved to hear they won't do that again.

I'm level 31 now so I think I'll just try and get a new sniper rifle and I'll give it a break before the update. I might actually try and keep on top of the daily missions this time as well.

 

Count me in as a player who pre-purchased the pass, but has yet to load up any of the extra content. Every so often I get the urge to fire it up when I want mindless shooting, but then I remember the shallow grind required to progress any gear. Not sure
if I'm ever going to get that taste out of my mouth. Biggest disappointment in my 35+ years playing games, at least compared to the preceding hype. As others have said, Destiny had tight mechanics, but everything else was a steaming pile of poo.

 

I still play regularly. I like to have at least an hour a day doing bounties etc. (Work/family permitting)

 

i do raids and nightfalls on tuesday then dont play again unless my mate wants to.

 

I play it maybe once a month, if that, and even when I do, it's not for very long (usually an hour at most). If I had more invites from friends to play it, I might play it a bit more, but most people, like me, have stopped playing it, so...

 

I have lots of friends and family playing Destiny GG so its a no brainer really. My bro is usually on the 360 version but jumps over when I pop online.

 

Well, yeah of course, Fear, but that works great for you, but not for me (unless I were to add your family as friends or something). I do want to ask though - does the profile/character info carry over from platform to platform?

 

Missed most of the stream but I was reading comments. So with this Arena Mode I heard that you will be rewarded coins that you can spend on what you want at a certain vendor? If that's the case then it's a very welcome change to the horrible RNG with raiding.

Also, I heard that reforging is available now for all legendary vendor gear, can anyone confirm?

 

@Galactic Geek, yeah. Progress is seamless between the two consoles. Kinda cool really.

 

@tCruzin - have a look at the destiny 4.0 thread, i put a full breakdown + link to the youtube video of the stream - awesome changes for HoW.. basically what we wanted from day one... very happy destiny player here

 

^yep some very positive changes are being made. Looking forward to the DLC and having something new to shoot at!
