@Xeno Im not exactly sure what Hellmouth is so no I didnt see it. What Im saying is if most of the in game missions are this short then its not really worth my money.

As far as judging the game off of the beta, how can I not? I played all of the missions multiple times and they are pretty meh. The MP is pretty terrible as well(my opinions) I dont forsee them changing the MP or having these awesome story missions.

How is it okay for anyone to praise the game and say "man the beta sold me on this game" yet when someone doesnt want to buy the game based off of the beta its an issue? Makes zero sense whatsoever.

As far as the game though, its not bad or terrible, its really solid for what it is. Even if it is nothing more than a Halo MMO with a mix of Mass Effect and a poor mans Borderlands. But from what I have played I really dont think I should be spending my
$60 for this game when I am going to play for 21 days and never touch it again. But thats just me, if you want to buy the game go ahead. I wont stop you or tell you how dumb you are, because what you think you will enjoy is different than what I will enjoy..

 

to be honest i am enjoying but i just really dont see why everyone is raving about it?

probably wont be a day may get it sometime down the line

 

I thought it Felt Halo... ish in every respect.

The Sharks reminded me of Sentential's, and the little thingy you had which showed where to go etc, made me think of 343 Guilty Sparks.

Over time it did obtain a feel of it's own that was easy enough to learn, and control, but a local ONLY
solo campaign would have added some extra Zest for old skool gamers such as myself..

Lets face it. Firefights with friends online will pay off big with this game, but there is always that Old School itch to "go it alone" and see how far you can get that gamers like me wont be able to scratch in this game.

As the Beta revealed. Somewhere along the way.. You're sure to bump into other gamers, and the absolute worst place to bump into them, when trying to scratch an itch, is when your trying to feel out the AI in a SOLO confrontation. .

Imagine, if you will. You're "on your own" in one heck of a firefight, (Level 6 I think) tactically attempting to coach the enemy into coming ever closer in order to keep up your ammo/other supplies, and suddenly other gamers show up, and you inadvertently
kill them, or they kill you. Or you get in each others way each hogging up the supplies YOU just worked hard to obtain..

I want the option to learn solo tactics against the AI and in so doing. Scratch my itches in gaming on my own.

That being said. Destiny is one heck of game. I'll perhaps be picking up this game later on in life when/if I get a newer console.- Make no mistake. The P3 and X-360 days are numbered, so no use getting an 'online only' game for them.- As for now, I haven't
the inclination, time, nor patience to go "online only" in gaming.

My personal Thanks to Bungie/Activision for the beta, and letting us Old Timers have a chance to feel it out.

 

Destiny instances the "can't respawn" sections of story missions. You're not going to run into anyone.

 

Meh , three times I waited six hours while I downloaded that poxy beta , and three times it messed up , never played a minute of the game , pffffft.

 

Like Ice said, once you hit the "Can't Spawn" no one will be able to interfere. Also nobody else can hog your loot drops either. That's one thing I love about this game. With BL2 I rather play solo because of loot ninjas but with Destiny we all see our own
loot so no worries.

With that said, I love the game and spent around 25/26 hours in beta. My favorite class is by far the Warlock, followed by the Hunter and then the Titan. Favorite loadout of the beta was the Shinigen C, a cool Uncommon Sniper I had and a Uncommon Machine
Gun (can't recall the names). I really can't wait for September now.

 

Wow was anybody paying the same game I was. PvP, PvE, solo or multiplayer missions, raids, strikes, exploring, grinding, boosting trying to get that epic drop. I loved it.

Nobody will be buying this game in its current state - it's in beta!

 

The game for me was great overall, but I can definitely see why some people are disappointed with it.

My advice? Don't go in with your expectations being very high - that way, you can be really impressed with it upon release.

 

I think it is a solid game. A bit over hyped maybe. But it was just a beta. There is way more to Destiny than what we seen. I am still getting the Collector's Edition (but I have to be honest) I am skeptical of getting the Collectors Edition. And Galactic
Geek has a great tip.

 

My expectation wasn't high and i wasn't impressed at all (Most of Destiny has been known for months :gameplay,designs,....)....I already played it a decade ago but it was called PSU and was more original and fun....

It will be hit but without me.

 

Didn't think it would grab me....but I was wrong. Really enjoyed the beta...

It most definitely was Halo-ish....not sure why that would surprise anyone.

It's still felt like the same old Halo engine behind the scenes - which is fine, but really you want the character to have more "movement mechanics" - e.g. taking cover, diving to their belly etc.

Graphics were a bit "meh" - but I guess if they're intending for massive player battles against the horde etc. then they have to set aside plenty of processing power for that....fair enough.

AI was poor - at "normal" setting anyway. (Worse than Halo at "normal").

But love the level progression - and love the fact that FINALLY there is a FPS that is intended to allow players to progress for (hopefully) years (rather than starting from scratch every time the latest version of the game comes out).

I think I'd give it a 8.5/10 - based on what I saw and the potential the game has. Hopefully it will deliver.

 

I didn't play this on the x1. I'm a ps4 guy now but everyone was stating Titanfall was overhyped well let me tell you... This has to be the most overhyped game of the last decade not to mention the online portions play like *** on the ps4. Connecting to
planets as opposed to having a fluid travel scheme leaves you with lots of network connection errors especially if you travel frequently between the tower and earth it was just awful. Little or no indication where to go in the big city it was just a big mess.
yes it features mechanics similar to Boarderlands, but Boarderlands was better; yes it's like halo but halo is better, and just like Titanfall it has a very limited selection of weapon types and there's a lot of reused maps and I just don't think the game
is going to big enough in terms of maps to be considered a true MMO. They will most likely correct this with loads of dlc in which you might as well be paying a monthly sub by the time you purchase all the content.

This game is simply not a buy for me and I am almost hurt that Sony invested so much with them I would have much rather they focused on trying to get Titanfall or something similar. Not to fear though we got plenty of real mmos to choose from and planet
side 2 is coming.

Bottom line xbox still has the only real gem so far this year and it's called Titanfall. But let me say ps4 has plenty of other great games and I still enjoy the ps4 over the xbox but this destiny is an epic fail by bungie.

The only real thing they have going is the game engine which has the ground laid where any shooter should succeed. Good plan, poor execution.

 

I enjoyed the Beta; however, I will wait until the game comes out before I purchase it. I will not be pre-ordering in.

As for Destiny, personally i thought it was a fantastic BETA. I wasnt keen on the PvP aspects nor did i like the load times in travelling, but i can get over them.
